perhaps mrazek is in net tonight because rod knows sitting half the team, especially the top half of the d corp plus the selke candidate, had a decent chance to get ugly and he trusts mrazek to file it away for what it is and not let it affect him moving into the playoffs?

Lots of discussion about the goal tending but for me the biggest worry going into the playoffs is Slavin’s health…if he is not 100% we are full stop screwed…

Well we scratched our top 3 D, Svech and others... I think regardless of Rod’s vocal message the message is pretty clear from this lineup in general that this game doesn’t matter. Which is fine, as it doesn’t matter at all.

last time I got worried about how the team was playing, they proceeded to go on a 6 game road trip in Tampa, Florida, and Dallas where we were clinging to a 1 point lead in the division and basically clinched the divisional title.

Staal and Svech are out, with us giving more minutes to our bottom 2 lines than our top 2, to reduce risk of injury.

I can only guess from this effort it was “don’t get injured and we will get pizza afterwards no matter what”.
I don’t think this game matters all that much but really distasteful effort to end such a great regular season.
