livin' that no caps life
Given that he sat for a good while it could be just something like a groin tweak due to rust. That's what I'm hoping anyway
If you guys want a laugh, check out the Jets/Leafs GDT. Brilliant!

I'm not to sure about that. I think I remember them saying last year and this year that they often plan out who starts and who sits ahead of time. Rod can always overturn that, but I remember him saying he leaves that up the the goalie coach(s).If they were originally planning on mrazek starting it must not have happened in the Tampa game. Hopefully it was just a tweak at practice or something that's not too serious
Yoakam but I calls him a Sling Blade.By the way, how do we pronounce the new D-man's name? Is it Joe - keem or hwaa - keem?
I'm not sure if this will end up being the biggest game of the regular season, but it'll probably end up in the top-5.
Must win? No. Would really really like to win? Yes.
Regulation wins by the Canes tonight and Saturday, and we're assessing whether or not we want to change up the banner design when we hang at least the division champs one at the beginning of next season.I don't think this one is any more important than the next game against them. We really just need to at least split, ideally without giving them an OT/SO point. Obviously 2 regulation wins is ideal but a split with equal points is completely fine too. These 2 games taken together are definitely the most important for the rest of the regular season, though I'd probably put the Tampa games above the Florida games. Tampa's always seemed like the bigger threat for the 1 seed, and frankly I think they still are...
Give it to the Canes just before the game then Hand them a can opener and tell them they know what to do. Just don't give it to McCormick we know what he'll do with it.. And Who let him on the Ice with Petr again?
I don't necessarily 100% agree, right now we'd be facing Nashville (or Dallas potentially?) which is preferable to Tampa or Florida. If that #4 ends up Chicago it's more of a crapshoot given how we play against them. I'd also rather play FLA than Tampa get gen how we play against them, but that would require su both to fall and Tampa to pass. That said, it's still such a crapshoot who will be in the #3 & #4 spots that you can't play to that. Play to win, but don't kill yourselves to do it, and most importantly, DON'T GET HURT.I dont think we could have any "must wins" without a few losses for the rest of this season. We are in the drivers seat heading into the stretch. One loss isnt gonna cause us a problem. As far as seeding is concerned it doesnt really matter much this year. Sure the guys sleeping in their own beds 1 more time is nice and may boost the team a little but really isnt going to make much of a difference without the full power of a loaded PNC. I feel like we are heading straight for a 7 game series against Tampa anyway we look at it.
You have us beating Detroit? Claps hands that's going against the grain.I see us going 7-4 with loses to one of either FL or Dallas, the, of course, a loss to CLB, one to Nashville, and one of the Chicago tilts.
So we are losing both? Good to know...Regulation wins by the Canes tonight and Saturday, and we're assessing whether or not we want to change up the banner design when we hang at least the division champs one at the beginning of next season.
Seriously, that means we'd be up 4 points in the standings with Florida only having 7 games left to our 9. And with Tampa 3 back right now with them already playing 1 more game than us and with them both still having 2 games left against each other?
In reality, one regulation win either tonight or Saturday makes it really tough for us to be caught.

The key for me is that if we drop this one, we're playing catch-up and Florida has a chance to put their foot on our throat for the division title in Game 2. That's a pretty big psychological difference than being truly in the driver's seat heading into that game.
Question is whether we can play 2 intense games in a row....team expended a lot of effort-capital to win the other night. That's fair but I don't think that's a huge factor. I mean look at the recent Tampa series, we dropped the first one and could easily have been in need of playing catch up if Tampa "put their foot on our throat" but with our backs kind of against the wall in the 2nd game we dominated them. I wouldn't be that concerned even if we do drop this one, this team doesn't seem the type to cave into pressure of FL trying to put their foot on our throat...
