How was Kuokkanen?

Well, I guess asking is a waste if there was no video.

No idea how many were scoring chances, but Lindholm led the team with 6 SOG followed by Skinner with 5 and Wallmark with 4.

This got me searching the internet.

TIL we have it pretty good.

"Broadcasting of sports started with descriptions of play sent via telegraph in the 1890s. In 1896, a telegraph line was connected to the Victoria Rink in Montreal to update fans in Winnipeg of the Stanley Cup challenge series between Montreal and Winnipeg ice hockey teams."

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcasting_of_sports_events

This was very common in sports all the way up through the 1920s.

If you were a hockey fan 100 years ago, it would be a perfectly normal thing for you to go hang out at the newspaper office or corner drug store on the evening of a road game. The guy at the counter would periodically pull a ticker off the telegraph and read it to you and a dozen or so of your fellow fans. It would give you the score and a vague idea of what was going on in the game. Most likely, the guy also had some sort of financial interest in the team, which is why he was providing those updates at his store in the first place, so you could buy a ticket for the next home game right over the counter.

In a way, it must have been a great time to be a fan. You just sat around shooting the **** with your buddies waiting for updates.

On nights like tonight, we pretty much re-create that old atmosphere in these threads. All we have is the slow drip of info from the few people who are following it on the radio.

I haven't got the slightest clue what happened in this game, except for the following:

Sutter from McLovin! Shots are 17-9 after the first.
Wallmark from Koukkanen!
Skinner from Stempniak!
sounds like a much more confident offense than last nights
No shutout :(
Lindholm led the team with 6 SOG followed by Skinner with 5 and Wallmark with 4.

So I feel quite free to fill in the narrative myself. The most upsetting part is that Lindholm selfishly cost us the shutout while trying to get another SOG. We should move him back to rover if he keeps that up.

For me, it was Brind'Amour pulling the goalie with a 3-1 lead and 2:00 remaining in the 3rd.
