I do have a question related to reserve lists.

There were a bunch of players out of NCAA whose rights could have expired on August 15, 2024, but not all did. For those that went back for fifth years, some had their rights maintained, others did not get offer and rights released.

CapWages and PuckPedia have different information on which players rights are still owned. It appears some of these guys signed AHL deals with parent club. Others returned to school.

How does one reconcile without calling central registry or teams themselves?

Rights still owned according to PuckPedia (but not CapWages):
Harrison Blaisdell
Jake Boltmann
Alex Campbell
Ryder Donovan
Ethan Haider
Chase McLane
Luke Reid
Sam Stange
Mckade Webster
Chase Yoder

Rights still owned according to CapWages (but not PuckPedia):
Dominic Basse
Gunnarwolfe Fontaine
Connor Kelley
Ryan O'Reilly

Figured I'd ask here first before I start calling around.

We last did an audit of all reserve lists and rights expiry recently and our lists are up to date and correct. So for the guys you listed, we are correct on both lists you gave.

Post deadline we'll whip up a page so you can see all the rights expiry in one table and filter by team.

Some of these guys, in particular 5th year NCAA players, it does require manual sleuthing or investigation, as there's no way to know without calling around. If you do happen to spot a mistake, info @ puckpedia .com is the best way to get in touch and then we can call around to verify.

There are people who like PuckPedia?

Are you ok? Can I help you? Do you need medical assistance?

Have you considered redesigning your website so it doesn't look like someone vomited on a page?
I'm actually starting to prefer Puckpedia for their tools and data. The GM mode is better than CapWages.

But you do have a very valid point with the front page and just general UI. It's way too much information, definitely a case of 'less is more'.

They really should just steal what Capfriendly did, with some tweaks to put less emphasis on stuff like trades (since they don't have the same connections as they did).

I'm a bit biased but PuckPedia is my go-to...

In all honesty, we've made a bunch of changes to our site over the last few months (including an improved homepage that we launched yesterday) and we hope people are liking it.
Just one man's opinion but:

Is busy and doesn't convey what I want to see right away. I would want to see the contracts, laid out and clear with UFA/RFA expiry

This is fine but because it is so tabular for lack of a better word, each player doesn't "feel" like their own entity, they feel like items on a table.

Would say that overall the users of the website probably care more about the contracts rather than transactions, injuries, other random bits of info that making them the center (much like capfriendly, capgeek, capwages do/did) would improve the reception of the site. Overall it is clear the info, reliability and quickness to update is the best that is out there now that capfriendly is gone, but the display needs to be improved (but has improved so good work).
