GDT: Capt America @ Ratless Bruins 7pm EST

couple of stinkers lately, and this wasn't much better

big game tomorrow, want to see a much better effort ... Lenny sits tomorrow? I probly would
Thinking that myself. Give him a chance to observe after playing in his first pro match. Then he'll have a practice with the boys before Friday's home game.

Leno as we all knew was his nickname /s was close to getting quite a few HQ scoring chances including on his first shift.

Love that he helicoptered that punk Viel at center ice. I wish a glove flew off for max effect. He reminded me of Oshie for a moment there. Smiling on the bench right afterward, players joining in.

I was glad to see Dylan had his back for Viel getting in Leno's way. That's how you build camaraderie. Pummel the oppositions tough guy in waves.

how's mcmichael's play been lately? didn't really watch last night. seems like he may get the
short end of the stick with leonard coming in.

Decent, not great. Like the rest of the team he's having a quiet stretch, pointless in last 4. Before that he went a good stretch with near PPG.

His minutes are safe. I'd guess they are just giving Leonard a look in the top-6 to give him a shot and get some familiarity in case injuries struck. Leonard will propably end up on the 3rd line eventually unless he really impresses.

LOL, he's deer in the headlights but handling the interview pretty darned well.
He just reminds me of one of those buddies in Good Will Hunting. He's going to fit right in perfectly with this team, and you could tell in the locker room video, they're making him feel comfortable.

I guess it's Leno, not Lenny, now 🤷

No way. He's 20, he's played less hockey than anyone except DMac. He's going to be fresh and full of energy. He'll play every game from here on out. He's not learning anything from the pressbox.

No. Stick with Leno. I thought he was good. Like Carbery said, he was off by a hair on a bunch of things. He got better as the game went on. Let the kid play.
Plus it will be good for him to get a back to back in against a really good opponent that pressures the shit out of you.

I thought Lenny had a good game for the most part, I'd give him every minute of game time possible until the end of the season. You can see he's going to adapt quickly and he's going to score very soon.

Absolutely love Carbs, couldn't ask for a better coach for this team.

Yeah I saw a few passes that were a bit behind him. Not sure if his speed was better than Protas/Strome were expecting or if his positioning could have been better. Either way, the chemistry isn’t there yet.

I do not understand the disfavor some of the fanbase has for CMC, I think for large parts of that Bruins game his line (and himself, obviously) were the only forward line looking good and dangerous. Doubly so to start the game off.

As for the rookie, I don't actually think Leno was that good but it's his first game. The big complaint I saw from his college days was that he'd try to take the blue line while dekeing 2 or 3 guys and end up turning the puck over, and he did it at least 4 times last night. I also think he'll benefit from an off-season with our skating staff, reminded me a lot of Wilson when he first came up in his jump at times and seeming to be skating in molasses compared to the rest of the guys on the ice.

For positives though he still looks like he belongs, didn't seem to shrink from the moment, and while I do take issue with CMC getting the short end of the stick in terms of minutes I can get it.

Ovi
Leno's debut was ok
Not like the trending right now even after a W. A "struggling" W against a bad team.

Mc with the best fight I've seen in a long time

This conjures the wrong image for me...

Yeah, the heat on McMichael here this year has been way too high. He had a lull there for a bit where he wasn't scoring much, but for a team that's used to watching a talent like Kuznetsov disappear, McMichael's speedbump this year was a big nothingburger. On the year, he'll end up +50% on goals and more than 100% on assists, and those aren't passenger numbers.

With a year left on a cheap deal to see if his uptick is real, there's nothing to complain about with this kid that you can't say about damn near every player in the league. He's doing all the right things. Before this year, his trajectory was tracking like Burakovsky, but now he looks like an entirely different player. Doesn't play like a kid anymore at all.

You can see him in the right places but the passes / rebounds just a bit out of reach.

I think the teammates need to adapt to HIS game. He's motoring to the net full speed and a few passes just missed him otherwise he had a few HQ chances. I think teammates will clean up those passes, and we'll see his first goal sooner than later.
