Yeah it happens to every goalie. Our goalies seem to lose their net more than others but that is common for young goalies. When Holtby was a rookie he was even worse.

Right. So why is this a major concern? The same poster (or someone else who is always bagging on VV) was complaining about rebound control in another thread iirc and the stats show that's not a concern, either.

I don't have a dog in this fight...it can be VV or Sammy or someone else. But it's lame when people just shit on what these guys are doing, particularly when they're developing.

I get that experience at the position counts for something but it's like a guy from a neighborhood watch trying to find fault with every little thing that's happening at the FBI.

Do any other goaltenders in the NHL overplay shots from time to time, in your expert opinion?

Not as badly as Vitek/Sammy. No other goalies come to mind in regard to their own control of movements.
