I’m fine with nostalgically remembering times, some even good. But I honestly can’t say those are great sweaters, much less beautiful.
These ENGs for Ovi are just the universe restoring balance after he’s hit 10 posts this year.
Don't forget the years he would be stapled to the bench in the last minute or two of the game they were leading.

Yeah, it's definitely a subjective thing. I resent the marketing. I know thirds and alternates are a league-wide thing, but the Caps specifically pushed their fans to "Rock the Red" for over a decade, and the fans responded beautifully. You can tell by looking at them that we have a true home crowd.
So nowadays when I'm watching Caps home games and those fothermuckers are wearing black or blue or whatever else, it pisses me right off.
I'm mostly joking, but I do think it's a bummer, especially since our red sweaters are pretty awesome.

Black jerseys on everyone else... hard pass. The black jersey era was a mistake the first time, let's not bring it back. Last year's Red Retro sweaters were incredible, they should have just updated them to not have the terrible late 90s/early 00s numbering and they would have been perfect.

These black ones look really cool in person as standalone jerseys but I don’t like them as a full uniform.
And last year’s RR uniforms were incredible and should be their full time jersey moving forward with a few tweaks.
Missed the game but just watched the extended highlight. Top line seems to have some chemistry right now, looked like they had a boat load of chances. Strome is looking really really good right now. Also credit to Lavi for getting the defense to play well while missing a few people.

It still boggles my mind that Dale Hunter (and to a lesser degree Barry Trotz) thought the best way to protect a lead was to staple Ovie to the bench, and not to let him seal the game with an ENG
My favorite will always be the original versions, especially the white ones. I'm also fond of the Cap's newer renditions of the originals, like the ones the Caps won the cup in 2018 with. I liked the military night sweater too. I don't really dislike any of them though.

Well that year after he was drafted I believe his intent was to stay over in the KHL but who knows if that would have happened or not.
