This game on Tuesday really f***s me. I am going to see Metallica in Blacksburg on Wednesday. Was going to leave on Tuesday night.

Now i have to go to Caps Game one, get banged up, come home, wake up early, drive to Blacksburg, go crazy at Metallica in Lane Stadium, get banged up, and drive home on Thursday. i already feel unhealthy from “too much fun” in 2025. This doesn’t help. But i am going to gulp all life has to offer!

My heart bleeds for you. Just drive safe, LOL.

Nothing against going back to the ol' alma mater 5 hours away but they were also coming to Northwest Stadium

I’m kind of most worried about Jackson Blake, he had 3 goals in the last two regular season meetings and created all sorts of problems for Caps (albeit not regular) defense.

That sounds like a pretty good 3 days to me.

It seems universally believed that we need our rest time off blah blah... who needs rest. I think Pro needs to play.

I think rest equals rust. I bet the guys do not want to be the last game to start in round 2. I think they want to keep playing. I like the old playoff format when there'd be back to back games.

Caps keeping the lines the same going into Game 1 with Beau on top line, and Protas on 4th line. I see no reason to not do that. Keep running those lines and pairs.

Also, the full schedule is now out.

I don’t if they will move Protas off the Dowd line to start. I think they like the ability to use two shut down lines that can play a lot of minutes if needed with the PLD line and Dowd. Eller’s line can be called the 3rd line but it’s really the 4th line.

They will likely shift Protas up to one of the top lines if needed.

No Friday night nor Saturday night home game seems like a scheduling failure. I wonder why the league got rid of back to backs in the playoffs. Its bunk that the players are too tired and kinda sucks for players on the road longer away from families doing nothing for a day but trying to stay out of trouble.

Absolute BS that we get NO weekend home games. No Friday, no Saturday, no Sunday.
I’m gonna need to use vacation time to make it work for all these weeknight games.
OTOH, it may mean fewer Canes fans make the trip up here.

Yep after sitting around for a week doing nothing. Do we really need the Western Conference to finish? I expect both teams to come out flat or rusty.

Sucks for family folk that want to bring their young kids to a game this series for it'll have to be on a school night.

Carolina presents a MUCH deeper threat than Montreal for sure. In their last game, Carolina ran Blake up top with Aho and Svechnikov. Carbs will probably match the PLD line against them. That means that someone (probably the Dowd line) will have to match up against the 3rd line of Jarvis, Staal, and Martinook. The 2nd line with Hall, Kotkaniemi, and Carrier is their defensive line, and they're deep enough to have Stankoven on line four.

Carolina was also fantastic on the PP against NJD, scoring 6 of their 19 goals. Having Protas back will hopefully be a huge factor on the PK.

Against Montreal, I was confident that if we could hold the Suzuki line in check that we could win the rest of the matchup. This is a much stiffer test for lines 1/3/4 as they are currently situated, though I like line 4 a LOT more both offensively and defensively with Protas back.

On the schedule, if the league really wanted Toronto/Florida on Monday, couldn't they have started our series today? Seems like a game 1 / game 7 doubleheader would have worked well.

It would have and they have done it multiple times in the past.

But NHL also on the other hand would like all the focus on that game today.

League did us no favors for Best record in the east. Canes get 2 out of the 3 home games on a Saturday night. Where their fans will likely be tail gating all day and very rowdy and drunk.
