have the game on and missed it. Went back and watched. he made a great play on the previous rush and bodied a guy up to keep in zone but then they turned it over. Was kinda back cherry picking but sweet drag to the middle before sweet shot!

I'm hearing his advisor goes by the name of Blevin Skayes.
Interview between periods on Friday and could see physically his frame he is good to move to Pro. Have to say imagining him being center McM on Friday was a thing. Not sure what RW would look like when/if he turns pro after the college season.

Barring Ryabkin sliding this is looking like a fairly bland draft class in the back-half. I like Brady Martin but if he's mid-first it's not a very solid class.
The Caps don't have any obvious roster shortcomings at the moment so little need to be aggressive unless injuries hit. Even if they don't aggressively buy at the deadline I'd definitely consider off-season moves that bundle their first along with manageable losses in order to upgrade. They don't have any glaring needs even in the bigger picture now. If anything it's probably most questionable in net with no heir apparent in the system. Maybe someone like Ivankovic could appeal to them but I'd consider trading for Spencer Knight or someone along those lines. Thompson could well be extended and maybe they also keep Lindgren around short-term but getting younger and adding some upside at the position now seems like the biggest priority.

It's too soon IMHO to start thinking about draft prospects that will be available when the Caps pick rolls around, in large part because I have no idea where the Caps will pick and don't follow these guys too closely.
But I'd been meaning to pop in here and ask if anyone had insight into Patrick Thomas, playing for (Captaining) the Brantford Bulldogs. He was the Caps 4th round pick in 2023, turned 20 in August, and is at 1.29 PPG. (4 goals, 18 assists in 17 games). I don't exactly think he's a top prospect or anything like that, just wondering if he may have a legitimate shot at an NHL future. He's unsigned still, his rights would expire June 2025. Obviously, the Caps have a logjam in their contract count prior to June 1. Along with Thomas, their rights to Hanelt and Hyland will expire June 1. Rights to David Gucciardi and Brent Johnson will expire in August 2025.
But when I was looking at Thomas, wondering if his assist count is high because he's playing with another top prospect (FWIW Thomas also had good numbers last season), I did notice Jake O'Brien, who Pronman had at 15 on his draft rankings. If we assume the Caps have watched Thomas some so far this year, it stands to reason they've also seen O'Brien quite a bit. Wouldn't be the first time they went after a prospect/guy because he was former teammates with one of their own.
Also, random blast from the past in that ranking: #25 Sascha Boumedienne. Yes, son of Josef. God I'm old.

It will be interesting to see if any of those guys get contracts. Patrick Thomas was signed a PTO for Hershey last year as a black ace but then released (which i think was more of a roster size limit).
At any rate i don’t suspect any of those guys get an NHL contract but a couple might get an AHL contract as a starter deal. If it goes well then maybe a two two deal. But likely none of them get interest for a two-way contract from any NHL squad.
Hagens down to #2 and Martone up to #1. Having watched almost all the BC games and just in the last few where Hagens is centering Leongard/Perreault he doesn't feel like a #1 pick. He is small. Needs more strength. Doesn't have elite speed. Cellibrini defnitely looked a ton better last year. Probably unfair since he was picked before starting as a Freshman but Will Smith look a hella lot better.
