They’ve turned it on, they’re not ****ing around. Trying to put us away but Georgie has been solid.
Even that last shift was rough- for every good play we made to break it up, we shot ourselves in the foot by either giving it right back to the Caps or not having a stick in a lane. Woof.

Caps are overloading hard because they don't respect the Rangers ability to move the puck, and they're absolutely right. Stop blind slapping it places, use your eyes numbskulls.

Not sure what the rule is in the NHL, but in a lot of sports you're not allowed to play with blood on your uniform as it's considered a biohazard (in soccer and basketball they make you change your jersey before returning). I wonder if the spray is actually more of a bodily fluid neutralizer.

Maybe ammonia

Just to get a rough idea:

Pionk has been on the ice for 23 PP goals against in 154 minutes.

This isn't perfect, but assuming most of them are two minutes penalties, that makes Pionk about 23 for 77. Of course, when he gives up a goal, it ends, but let's give him the full two minutes.

The Rangers as a team are 46 for 204. 204 - 77 = 127. 46 - 23 = 23.

Pionk on - 70%
Pionk off - 81.8%

Again, that's an estimation, but are we surprised? And as you can see (23, 46) he's been on the ice for half of them, that's a stone cold fact.
Thanks yeah so it’s bad. The fact that he keeps getting used there just makes no sense to me. This coaching staff’s handling of him overall makes no sense to me. It’s like there’s a large gap between what the player is and what they think he is.

What’s crazy about Pionk is the eye test completely matches his poor analytics. Break it down stat wise and you see he’s awful on the PK and you would draw that same conclusion even if you didn’t look up the stats and only watched him play. He’s small, poor positioning, weak and loses almost every battle. It’s staggering that he’s not being sheltered along as a 3rd pair sheltered minutes guy.

had to count the number of blue sweaters after that defensive zone draw...looked like a PP

Wow caps gotta be questioning why there was no icing before that goal. That's how we gained the zone
