They seem pretty upset, and my bet is the use this as an excuse. But who knows?

If they struggle out of the gate, it should force their hand.
It's all about the results.

If they start losing players and management are gonna start feeling grumpy. It is unavoidable.

A Sammi article also had a picture from JC6's wedding that was a bit less clear. Still possible, one could argue statistically probable, but who knows.

The more interesting news from it is that he looks like he cut the hair.

Ok, looks like this board is approaching off-season content, so bring on the games again.

It’s going to be interesting. Two weeks of hockey. Short period to make big decisions. I think more teams try to sell which means better values. That was last year for us and we ended up making the playoffs. Teams will follow.

Let's hope there are better options than Brock Nelson available. Not enough pace to believe him to be a finalizing piece.

They should be fresh and ready to go but definitely need another offensive catalyst to like their chances. The blueline and goaltending are more than adequate. Here's hoping they don't go conservative and just opt for some mid grinder type that functionally doesn't offer much more than a Mangiapane.

💯

All game long, I was watching him and thinking "nope".

Marchand and Nelson did not impress me at all. Don’t want to pay a first for either.

This deadline kind of sucks. Kinda have to make a move but there’s not much out there.

There’s a lot of teams on the bubble, who knows who’s available.

That Lankinen extension should be music to Lindgren's ears. Wow.

Understand the dilemma over Demko's health and all but that's a big number (5x4.5M). Plus NMC/NTC protection.

Feels like Vancouver is always making deals based off of 6 month windows. Never look beyond that into the past and never plan for further into the future.

Too lazy to read all 12 pages I missed out on during the break, just my couple of cents..

I've seen Mccann play since pretty much his first year in the league to this day.. he's a fraud, hard pass on any deal with a 1st and Mcmichael in it. Guy has stone hands and they have enough bodies to kill penalties, all in all would be just an unnecessary trade to imitate that they at least are doing something.

I feel like his proponents are the same people who advocated here for acquiring Nelson. That dude looks more washed than the blue t-shirt I bought on vacation in Turkey 5 years ago.

The only potentially available forwards I can think of better than Nelson are ROR, Boeser, and Rantanen, and if Rantanen is moved it won't be to a Metro rival.

Nashville isn’t a motivated seller but O’Reilly is said to be on the trading block for the right price. Wouldn’t mind seeing them go for it as long as the ask isn’t too crazy

Feels like you’re referring to one maybe three people lol….lets not pretend it’s more.

Both guys are middling options…..but options are also limited.

I almost kind of want to make a deal just for the sake of clearing up the logjam at forward. Miro/Cristall/Leonard/Lapierre can't all be on this team next year. Of those, Cristall can spend some time in the AHL but the others probably are expecting NHL time either on this team or another.

That's why I am advocating for trading Lapierre + 1st to get the best rental forward we can.

Boeser is there for the taking, I just am not sure he'd be willing to resign with the Caps. He seems like a pretty serious, no bullshit dude and I don't know if there's a fit from the character POV. That said, he's a Minny boy, should be all about hockey and letting the rest figure itself out. If there's a fit on the ice - let's go.

They don't have to make that move before the trade deadline. They can do it in the offseason.

Regarding the trade deadline, if the right player is available, then make a move. If it's not, don't force a trade just because the Caps have tradable pieces.

Crazy price for a non-core add IMO.

If Cristall is in Hershey, then why can't Miro, Lappy, and Lenny be on the team? Almost certainly gone are Eller, Mango, Sonny, Jake, Raddysh, and maybe Frank. Ovie is another year older and should have taken the record. I don't see the problem.
