Bruce Cassidy was just recently named second least favourable coach to play for by the players. Are we really surprised thar a coach like him is petty and bitter about a former player who requested a trade away?

This is a pile of nothing. They were petty and didn't pick him, then he got hot and made them look stupid and now they are scrambling to save face.

No judging just my pattern recognition alert signal going up. Doing technical support for 20 years and now managing ten amazing analysts I can't help but look for the troubleshooting patterns. To be honest feels like a bun is in the oven situation. If so congrats and could see why a mid-season marriage and fun time would be something to enjoy sooner rather than later.

Also none of my business but there are worse things going on in the world.

Doubt it. They're still a win-now motivated franchise that (in terms of raw standings) is only 1 behind WC2. Obviously the reality of the team is that it has 2 more games played than WC2 and a -25 goal differential, and is likely to get blasted in the playoffs even if it jumps over Detroit, Ottawa, and Columbus. So the right decision is likely to sell, I just don't see their management leaning that way.

They seem pretty upset, and my bet is the use this as an excuse. But who knows?

If they struggle out of the gate, it should force their hand.

They've got the same deal as NYI with Barzal out where they're unlikely to make the playoffs and what probably happens is they trade some guys but not the one guy who can return a 1st
