I maybe reading way to much into this (and admittedly I'm trying not to panic), but Im keying on the words "lower leg" from the report.

I've been worried from the get go of any of the various knee injuries... from a sprain, to any of the ACL/MCL tears. But to me, the knee isn't "lower leg". Certainly "Lower body", which was the wording I expected. But maybe, just maybe, its not the knee???

Bring up Miro. I think he could fit in well on that line with Strome if they go that route.

Fully agree. Protas has had great chemistry with Ovi off and on ice for a while, and I think that will translate to being a great peer/mentor for Miro. I see so much of Ovi in Miro as well. Personality, drive, and compete...

was it confirmed to not be the ACL?

No...further evaluation is tomorrow. Wednesday 11/20. We're all just here projecting/speculating based on our experiences. I had a 'similar looking' injury at 46 and it was my 3rd one. Took me out for a couple weeks.1-2 days of r.i.c.e., 2-3 days crutches, some gimping around for a few more days, then hired an out of work college kid to take me around in a wheelbarrow to all the bars while I practiced my banjo. After I sobered up, PT for a week.

There will be lots of pressure to get him back as quickly as possible. Hopefully, it's resisted. He has been playing at a very high level this year (better than at any time since like 21-22 IMO), and if it takes a little extra time for his body to get back to enabling him to compete at the level he's been at this year - then that time is worth it,

Lower leg could be ankle, shin or lower calf.

Feels to me like Carbs would want to give Lappy a shot at LW, before thinking about going to Miro.
It's possible, but HL won't be on that top line. Miro seems like the next best option to replace OV's spot. Miro hits and shots the puck.

What will be unfortunately interesting to see, does Carbs/Muller put Chychrun in place of OV on PP1 unit?

I have tickets to the game in Florida next week, will be a bummer to likely not see him, but I love our team, we have depth and can still excel while he gets better.

They should send him back to Dubai!

I would call up Miro and just try to directly replace Ovi with him, everything else seems to be working great so no need to shuffle things around. Sucks for Lappy but I don't know how you get him into the lineup without taking Vrana out.

Yeah, if it were a center injury I'd put in Lappy but for a winger injury I would prefer Miro come up.

If they really want to get Lappy in, I could see Mangiapane up to 1LW and Lappy on the third line with Eller and Vrana.

Yep. I tore my ACL and had an MRI right away. The fact that he is week to week makes me think it is not a tear but probably an LCL or MCL sprain but that’s a complete guess based upon nothing but vibes.

Bring up Miro. I think he could fit in well on that line with Strome if they go that route.
When I tore my ACL in middle school the ER forgot about me for four hours, gave me an X-Ray for some stupid reason which told them nothing, then gave me crutches and told me to go somewhere else for an MRI. Not really relevant to the Ovie discussion but I'm still pissed at them for wasting an entire Saturday morning.

Anyway, agree about calling up Miro. I say we dye his hair grey, put Ovie's jersey on him, and see if anyone can tell the difference. Might be able to keep Ovie in the race for the Rocket while he heals.

I stepped in a hole hidden in deep grass while backpacking. Self diagnosted hyper-extended knee. Fun times. Amazingly RICE worked for me.

Who is #15 from mmory only aka only seniors need apply.

Yea that's the only other option IMO. Wouldn't be my first choice though as I don't think you can play Vrana and Lappy (or Vrana and Miro, or Lappy and Miro) together and still have Carbery trust them enough to play more than 8 mins a game.

Rumor: Boston fires their coach.

Mod edit: added the rumor tag to this post. No verified sources have reported this. Also, this is in the wrong thread and should be in the Around the NHL thread.

Agree that Lappy and Vrana, Vrana and Miro, and Lappy and Miro aren't an option. That's why try Lappy, then try Miro - in either case, if you have to shorten the bench or protect a lead in the 3rd, you move Mangiapane up to 1LW.

You could also look at moving Vrana up to the 1st line, and having Lappy or Miro slot in there.

Bruins cancelled their practice for today so figured that was it for the coach.

Joe Sacco to take over. Let's hope he's as great of a tank commander he was a decade ago.
