Would you also take a matrixed approach?

Serious thing: In 2017 my company's marketing dept shoved "digital transformation" down the sales team's throats. No one understood it at all, it didn't apply to our product, and the sales team mostly all quit, and the company never recovered. It sold in 2020 for half what it was worth in 2016. Good times with business buzz words.
'Alignment' seems to be the big corporate buzz word at my company.

Are you implying our HF visitation and patronage isn't only to benchmark objective supply resource-leveling fungibility of Kuznetsov?

This was from an email this morning. I only had to add Kuzy and HF. LOL
I think I'd throw myself out a window eventually. Dear lord, what a mess.

Rather be a cook again, where that "email" is one guy you may or may not fight later getting up in your face and swearing a lot.

Working for a for a government contractor I’m part of plenty of meetings daily that are filled with nonstop buzzwords I need my sanity checks when I log in here not more buzzwords.

As someone who works for the government itself, I get some buzzwords, but most of my day is nothing but acronyms. I used to have a bit where I could speak out an entire sentence where every word that wasn't a verb was either an acronym or abbreviation.

Nonprofit sector. The buzzwords are different but also yeah... we definitely leverage. But we also do a lot of figuring whether the juice is worth the squeeze and whether we have operationalized, incentivized, and impacted policy and practice.

EDIT: A big part of my job is making sure those words are reserved for the inside voice and don't get used out in the real world.

Damnit I stop working throughout the day and check here to get away from this shit….

:thumbd::help::laugh:
I think we might have to put you on a PIP due to your negativity and poor attitude then we’ll reassess your situation in 30 days. We’re a family here and culture is paramount. You’re either bought in or you’re not. Can we count on you?

Ugh those too and trying to keep up with ones that are already used elsewhere and have different meanings too depending on where they’re used…the worst

I’m in finance. So the term “it’s more sizzle than steak” gets used…..far too often.

We also “need to think globally” and ensure we “work on what makes sense”

So, yeah. I guess I love the Sizzle, think microscopically, and gravitate to things are are illogical?

Ugh speaking of a PIP looks like I will have to put one of my team members on one who I was also a fellow peer for 15+ years and now their manager for one.

So slight adjustments to overall structure, fitting systems with players a bit, and "pace" that's more about what I'd call up-tempo style.

The last bit is something that's obvious to anyone watching high-end teams vs the Caps. It's not just foot speed and breakaway ability.

There are fast skaters on the team and we're not that "slow" overall in team skating speed vs the league average, imo (yes yes we all know Backstrom has lost a step). But the tempo of play in general has been...lackadaisical...about what you'd expect from a veteran team playing out careers rather than a bunch of hungry rookies exploding out of the gate.

On young players competing for spots, Kickstarting Kuzy, Backy's [comeback, etc he gives well-crafted answers that don't really shake the Earth but seem to suggest not much difference vs Lavi's philosophy, only more "we're all excited to get started" enthusiasm.

Been there, done that. I wound up having to 'let go' 2/3 of my team I was a part of for years. I quit a few months later after my management retention bonus check cleared and have never worked internally again. Consultant life ftw!

Oh back to hockey, PIPs for Kuzy, Mantha, Backy. Whom else is on the hot seat this year?
