GDT: Caps @ Quacks 10pm EST

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.
  • We are currently aware of "log in/security error" issues that are affecting some users. We apologize and ask for your patience as we try to get these issues fixed.
The Caps were a little loose in their own end last night IMO. Not as loose as the Ducks though.
1st/4th goals, sure. 2nd goal was a nasty screen, but LT was stopping those earlier in the year. 3rd goal went in directly off his glove.

Not trying to overanalyze one game, but there's a pretty clear trend line. The stat I shared in my earlier post (.890 sv% since extension) stretches over 10 games. Hopefully, this is just some regression that he will bounce back from soon. It's obviously much better to have this stretch in March versus April.

A certain other Capital had his first hat trick in Anaheim, on January 13, 2006, and a certain WanderingCapsFan was in attendance that night.

** I still have the ticket stub. Yes, kids, ticket stubs were a thing back in the day.
I was there too. Didn't have the brains to keep the stub though. That one goal where he went down the goal line, across the goalie, and buried it, was unreal.

Is less of a trend, and more like just variance over a long season. It's very unlikely he's having some emotional let down after signing his deal, than it is just random below average games. It's also hard to be crisp wen your team is scoring a touchdown every other game.

LT will be fine. So will Chucky.

3-2 overtime win with OV scoring all 3. My wife and I were up in the cheap seats. I vividly remember us jumping up and shouting when he scored in OT amid silence around us. I don't think there were many of us that night.

as long as one of the tenders turns into a monster come playoff time, which I have a good feeling about, I'm not even concerned.
