Canada almost always sends good teams to these.

It'd be great if the American stars show up to these tournaments, maybe it'd help them beat Canada in a best on best.

Edit: Looking at the roster above, that's one of the best USA rosters I've seen for this tournament, awesome!
 
At 5'10" 180 he's bigger than his dad.

A junior, 11 goals and 18 assists in 23 games last season. Leading scorer for Brown. Which may not mean a whole lot, but it never hurts to get guys like this into dev camps.

(For a laugh for anyone who missed it - go back and watch the handshake line video after we beat the Habs. Especially watch Wilson bend over to hug St Louis. Been meaning to call this out since then. Meh.)
 
Great news honey, you thought I was watching a lot of hockey the last 2 weeks? The Worlds are about to start and I've got no choice but to fully engage with the WHL Finals featuring Cristal and McKenna, seemingly streaming on Vistory+ starting tonight.

OHL: Cam Allen and the London Knights are down 1 game to 0 vs Oshawa. He's pointless, +1 in game 1. (3 of Oshawa's 4 goals in the first game were on the PP.)
WHL: Cristall and the Spokane Chiefs are down 1 game to 0 vs Medicine Hat. Cristall is pointless, -3 in game 1.
QMJHL: Mateiko and Rimouski's series vs Moncton hasn't started yet. Game 1 is today.

I'd refer you the Hershey thread for info on how Caps prospects are doing in the AHL playoffs. (Hint, not great.)

It’s a shame neither Parascak, Protas, Chesley, Muggli, Gucciardi or Thomas is seeing the ice, but maybe that was to be expected.

What’s the rule about calling up players to the Caps if Hershey got eliminated? Unlimited number of players?

I'd like to see some of those guys playing too, but it's purely selfish. Hershey should be icing the ones that give them the best chance of winning. (An argument could be made that 1 or 2 of the named guys would be better than some of the ones in the lineup already, but I'm not equipped to make that call.)

As far as I know, they can call up as many signed guys as they want, though there are limits on what's practical. (How many do they need to fill out practices? How big is the suite on game day? How many nachos can a group of prospects eat at a game?) Hell in theory they could sign some of the guys under AHL contracts only to tryout agreements and have them in DC. Though it would be near pointless after the already signed ones.

I feel pretty confident that both Chesley and Gucciardi would be upgrades over McDonald and/or Perrott. From the forward ranks really only Protas would be worth seeing. I think the other black ace forwards would just get pushed around too easily in this series.

I think the plan for 7D was to exclusively use Hunt to be the PPQB, which worked pretty well but it's a shame he's so bad on D they had to dress a 7th ECHLer to play a regular shift on the Blue line. Unfortunately, I don't think this strategy is sustainable. Maybe the plan is to use it to get by the Phantoms because they see something then go back to a traditional lineup.

Cristall’s game tonight is being carried by TSN. I find most of those junior games tough to watch because of the production values but this is an NHL-caliber broadcast.
 
Spokane getting taken to the woodshed 5-0.

Solid game from Oasiz Weisblatt who was in camp with the Caps last year. I see he just signed a 3 yr deal with Milwaukee, I wonder if Hershey had any interest?
