Caps Prospects General Discussion Thread - 2024-25

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I would like Lappy and Miro to get some NHL action before the playoffs. I assume both will be black aces in the playoffs. And either could be next man up with an injury or benching.
You think they call them up to ride the pine while Hershey has a legitimate chance at a third Calder Cup in a row? I can't see it unless there are a run of injuries or Hershey gets eliminated before the Caps.

Protas sitting for tonight's regular season finale against London. Seems likely he'll finish second in points/assists and third in goals in the OHL.

I'm disappointed as I grabbed a seat right behind the Spitfires bench hoping to get y'all some LittlePro pics. You'll have to settle for a Cam Allen in Ovi's office pic...

Allen seems to gravitate to a QB role, both distributing and looking to shoot. Had one good shot on goal/scoring chance so far. On with the second PP because Dickinson runs the 1st.

Knights have all their stars playing and outshooting the Spits 13 - 5 after one. London juggernaut squad with many moving on next year.

Yes I do. They're going to prioritize the Caps over the Bears. If the Caps have an injury to a center in warmup in the playoffs, you're going to want Lapierre in. (And if they have two injuries...)

I think they might pull Lapppy up to washington. Miro will be in Hershey. His turn to lead to Calder.

If caps need players the best are coming up.

When Leonard signs they'll have two extra forwards. Frank will be on the outside looking in and either Raddysh or Beauvillier will likely join him unless Leonard struggles. I highly doubt, unless injuries occur, that they call Lappy up and gut Hershey for him to ride the pine with two forwards already sitting. Washington and obviously Chris Patrick (given how closely he's worked with the Bears) value Hershey's success more than most NHL clubs value their AHL partners.

Yes, I think this is right. Lappy will start in Hershey unless injuries. They can designate black aces and not have them up immediately. But if anyone goes with Washington to start the playoffs it will be Lappy. But i would like to see all the Bears stay to start. Frank can’t play with Bears. And as noted we will have two depth forwards with Leonard in.

Leon Muggli's team was knocked out of the Swiss National League playoffs this week. It will be interesting to see if they bring him to the US for the tail end of the seasons here.

He's still only18 (until July), so I can't imagine they play him in a game and expect much. But who knows, he could make an appearance in South Carolina just for the exposure.

From my extremely limited viewings of him this year (and almost all at WJC) it seems like he didn't really improve upon last season. Would probably think he stays in Switzerland for at least one more season rather than have him come to SC. For next year too you'd think Chesley and Allen are ahead of him in terms of a Hershey spot

For the record, I agree with pretty much everything you said.

Was just theorizing there might potentially be a long term benefit to have him hanging around, skating with one of the teams. Even if he wouldn't get into games, barring a horrendous string of injuries.

I don’t see Beauvillier being scratched before Mangiapane. But maybe I got shinny new toy syndrome.

It’s all about position. If a Center goes down Lappy is our 5th center. Or maybe Sgarbossa, I don’t know, I don’t watch Hershey.

I watch a fair number of games. Follow pretty closely. Would love to see them win three in a row. Or any year.

Caps tend to go with least disruptive approach with Bears. If they don’t need a body, won’t bring one up. I think regardless of forward who goes down, Lappy or Sgarbosa will be first callup. Miro after that.
