Caps Prospects General Discussion Thread - 2024-25

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Can he go to Hershey next year?
He was drafted from the USHL and there's no transfer agreement there so I believe he could. That said I don't know how him transferring to the CHL for a year would impact that since he's an import I would think it excludes him but somebody with more knowledge on the subject would have to chime in.

Cam Allen's back. No Protas today. Some sort of upper body injury it seems.

Parascak seems to have turned his season around. Good for him.

Meanwhile Cristall has a 4 point lead on McKenna for the WHL scoring title with 2 games to go...seems safe except Mckenna had a 7 point game last go around so...

Crazy depth to have 6 guys ahead of your most recent first round 17OA pick

I get what you're saying and a lot of those guys above him do seem like players but... he was a fairly strange pick and we're still fully in the "wait and see" phase.

Have to imagine BU still gets an at-large bid to the full tournament. Hutson's season could end in the Regional tournament before March 30.

In the other Hockey East semi-final, Maine beat Northeastern, likely ending Lemay's season. This was the end of his third season of NCAA hockey. (EDIT many hours later because it isn't worth a new post, but Lemay played 39:06 in the game, which went to 2 OT.)

On Saturday Michigan State (Gucciardi) plays Ohio State (Johnson) for the Big Ten title.

<-Slightly related to NCAA players->
One thing I'm slightly fascinated to see... Since the Caps stand a good chance of winning home ice throughout the Eastern Conference tournament well before the season ends, which prospects play some games in DC during the final stretch. They're limited to four player recalls until the end of the regular season, barring injuries to the NHL roster that leaves them short a body. And the AHL roster rules limit who may be able to play in Hershey as that season winds down, though I am unclear of exactly who is eligible and for which games (regular season vs playoff games).

I would like Lappy and Miro to get some NHL action before the playoffs. I assume both will be black aces in the playoffs. And either could be next man up with an injury or benching.
