Bout time Caps got some respect. All it took was complete domination at the World Juniors.I don’t want to alarm anyone but I’ve been tracking The Athletic’s daily releases of team prospect rankings and today was the release for #13 and Washington still hasn’t been released. Unprecedented territory for Scott Wheeler, prepare yourselves accordingly.
Washington and Columbus are the only two Metro teams not listed yet. The others: Carolina (16), New Jersey (17), Philly (18), NYR (19), Pittsburgh (20), NYI (25).

Who knows how it’ll turn out in real life but the front office has pulled off a masterclass the last few years. Successfully retooled on the fly with the best record in the NHL currently while also creating a terrific prospect pipeline to help reinforce the post Ovi years.Anaheim at #12 today
I think @kicksavedave has one for Lemay? I know he’s his biggest (only?) supporter for him, in our groupRandom 'index' of links to threads on the Prospects board for our guys. Only those in NCAA, junior hockey, and Sikora and Muggli, so no AHL guys. Some editorial license because I really have more important things I'm supposed to be doing right now. I personaly have alerts set on most of these, and find it useful to track news.

The Ducks don't get enough shit for being basically Detroit west ...So the Ducks are in the middle of their 7th straight year of total suckage during which time we won our Cup, and our prospect pool is better than theirs ... bravo to the front office !
How's it feel to be FROZEN?!
They have a lot of young players in the NHL that probably need time to be at their best. McTavish, Carlsson, Gauthier, Zelwegger, Mintyukov with the addition of Sennecke should start lifting them up the standings in a year or two. So in a U21 or U23 ranking instead they would probably place quite high.So the Ducks are in the middle of their 7th straight year of total suckage during which time we won our Cup, and our prospect pool is better than theirs ... bravo to the front office !
No doubt. I've basically been growing ever more frustrated with each passing year that we haven't gone all in on a full tear down and rebuild from the foundation level, basically going back 7+ years, by 2020-2021 I was beyond infuriated looking at a 30th ranked farm system, and every single quality player on the roster being 30+. To have over the past four+ years, had only one top 8-10ish pick, and still totally turned over the farm system to the tune of a jump from 30th, to top 10-12ish? Insane, especially considering we didn't even have a freaking first in one of those classes and we did not trade any vets for anyone's elite young farm system players either. Just fantastic drafts essentially while the big club made great trades to get younger to the tune of moving from 30ish year olds to 25ish year olds. It's a miracle. I don't think it's quite good enough to make us a long term contender like we were '08-'18, but I do think it's good enough to see out this decade and allow flexibility again to tank if need be if the bottom falls out of this. There's a lot of hope now in the present and in the future, in '25, where there was none, in my view '19-'22 or '23. Amazing.Who knows how it’ll turn out in real life but the front office has pulled off a masterclass the last few years. Wonder if they do something big this year. With Logan signed long term, they really don’t have a glaring hole at any position in their pipeline, so you have to wonder if the first will be in play. They have to be one of the favorites to get out of the East.
Honestly, if there were a Nobel Prize for NHL GMs, BMac has it locked.Buffalo at 11 today, officially in top ten territory.
I think it's Ross Mahoney who deserves the lion share of the credit for the prospect pool. And he's been here longer than BMac.Honestly, if there were a Nobel Prize for NHL GMs, BMac has it locked.
