Matthews was at the skate but not playing. Murray is starting.

Ovy is back for the Caps.

Oh, God. Murray?!

Decent chance Gretzky's record falls tonight lol.

But seriously, if the Leafs show up and play a good game, this should be a good test. TOR is tied with FLA in points and games played and faces a good all-around team whereas FLA draws the hapless Habs.

To be fair, we’ve been playing a lot of crap teams lately. I’m looking forward to some tougher opponents to see how we stack up

No point wining yesterday in Detroit if you’re gonna not show up tonight, so kindly do something.

Thank you. That is all.

Last Saturday game of December. Leafs are 0-3 so far on HNIC. Would be nice to get one.

Literally my household every Saturday this December. Surprised why Leafs fans don’t have an AFTV equivalent, it would be absolute magic watching that. :D

2 points out of a back to back is better then 0 so showing up and winning last night is points in the bank regardless of what happens tonight lol

I wouldn't sleep on Montreal today. This is the type of game they can surprise.

"Hey Matt, good news! You're starting against the Caps Saturday.
Bad news? Ovi's back in the lineup."

I watched some of the second and third periods of the FLA/MTL game.

I don't know... I legit think Tampa is better than Florida. But I think Florida is the bigger threat to our team... if that makes sense.

The Lightning made a real statement in the first period the other night against the Panthers. They were dominant. Then Kucherov got himself kicked out and they let up somewhat but still won comfortably. Today FLA is the better team in terms of shots and possession (which shouldn't be surprising since they're playing MTL). But I haven't been too impressed by FLA. Don't think they've had a ton of Grade A chances and they've had some terrible turnovers and managed the puck very poorly at times. They've been shut out a few times recently (by VAN, CGY, TB and now MTL).

The way FLA plays seems to really stifle and frustrate TOR whereas Tampa seems more willing to play a wide-open, skill-based game against the Leafs. I know the Leafs have changed their approach, style and system, but they looked like crap against FLA in the lone meeting so far between the two teams this season and have had two good outings against the Lightning. I do hope that's not foreshadowing.

Most ideal thing is Leafs win Atlantic, get an easier team they actually beat and get out without injuries. Meanwhile, Panthers and Tampa beat each other and Tampa wins. Leafs get Tampa round 2 who we know we can beat.

From there, who knows but at least we are final 4 and have a legit shot by then.

We all know we’ll be playing Boston round 1. Those guys seem to be trying to get us every year it seems lol
