What I like from OV, he played a good detailed game and made some smart plays without the puck. Empty netter was a reward tonight! Some timing still needed with shots, offensive flow type stuff, but for a 39 year old who was out for 16 games, he looked good.

Thompson has been very consistent and Lindgren is picking up his game. Caps developing a 2-head monster in net.

I like our goalie rotation. It is working for us and I don’t think we need to tinker with it. Logan is definitely the 1a. Chucky is a solid 1b. And i would say they have probably embraced the rotation. They know how to prepare.

I don’t think he does. He has done his thing there which is an elite center man carrying the puck. He needs to be around the NHL game and he can learn a lot. He will get enough games when injuries/illness happens or just getting him in. He doesn’t need the ice time… lots of that over last two years.

Only complaint was it seemed like he stayed out too long on that shift where they gave up the 2nd goal.. had a couple of chances to change but didn’t and then got smoked in that foot race from the red line

In the video session, I'm sure the coaches will point that out to him. You can't have a perfect come back from injury at age 39. Hell most players don't play till age 39!

minutes were pretty well spread out. Dee was all similar. Wilson and McMichael had the most of forwards at 18 min. Third line light with Lappy at 10, Jake at 10.5, and Mangi at almost 12. OV only 15. Short turnaround for tomorrow.
