Probably because he was one of our best forwards tonight and they needed a net front presence on that last powerplay.

Matheson was good in the parts I saw - and was passing a lot to Slaf on the pp.

Matheson passed to Slafkovsky more in the last minute than he has all season. Huge improvement.

He must have heard about the complaints after last game where even the broadcasters started talking about it.

I like Armia. A lot more say than Gallagher or Anderson.

Well I would have put Roy. Had a good game and the whole point of a rebuild is to put youngsters in those situations as the win doesn't really matter.

Xhekaj played a strong game I thought, had some nice shots get through that almost went in that the boys couldn’t bury on the rebounds, plus the huge clapper that beat Kuemper from the blue line. No penalties and played physical all game, while moving the puck well.

The Suzuki line continued to dominate out there. Had the majority of chances and looks all night. Slafkovsky has hit another gear and keeps progressing at an exponential rate.

Thought Armia quietly had a solid game as well, cycled the puck well and played physical.

Joshua Roy is a smart hockey player. He does little things that don’t look like a lot but usually end up in a chance or take away. Beautiful button hook and pass that allowed Xhekaj to walk into one.

Fun game overall.

Seriously do people forget last season we were trying to hold the zone with players like Hoffman and Drouin.

Quite a successful game IMO despite the final score which doesn't really matter all that much right now really.

He's 5-10-3 in 18 starts. Even just being a .500 goalie would add roughly 6 points to our total, if he played as well as Monty it would be closer to 10 and we'd be tied with Detroit for a wildcard spot.

Matheson's ability to evade a forecheck is a skill that's absent in every other defenceman that was dressed for this team tonight. We'd get massacred every game without him.

I've said this for a while now I have no interest in moving this Armia. If the other one shows his face show him the door.

Armia's an enigma, but when he decides to play, he's a very useful player.
