Caps @ Cbus 1230 ish

No doubt looking forward to the upcoming Helter Skelter playoffs. If they can survive the first round maybe they can do something. IF.

Hard to like their chances minus Protas, though. They really need him back and the standard he brings to the game. Not enough guys bring that level of highly effective engagement.

all we can hope is this turns into a tough lesson
Round 1 'Will vs. Skill' sends a lot of better teams home
get it together ya shitbirds

either way the trend of giving up Jose Three-or-more every gm the last 10 has to be a major one

we were 3rd in GA 10gms ago (178) now we're 9th (222) - 44ga in 10gms!

He is really bad at NHL level hockey. Historically he is a very very good AHL goalie.

He is definitely bad at self grooming, though!
He's hasn't been good for the Bears this season. The Bears have been a lot better in net with Stevenson/Bjorklund since Shep was called up. Shep shouldn't even be the starter for the Bears when he comes back! Basically his career with the Bears/Caps is done! It explains why he hasn't had his contract renewed yet, and he's only age 30.

I was asleep when this game was going on. Just watched the highlights now, and Shepard was atrocious despite the team really not being engaged in the game. His reads were awful and he backed up too deep into his crease at the wrong times. Shep was more like a EBUG, than a pro level goalie!

I have mentioned multiple times in Hershey Bears thread that Shep has hindered Clay Stevenson's development with the Bears. The only reason Shep was kept around because he was good the two previous Bears seasons, while also being playoff clutch both years as well. Scott Murray is responsible for having Shep as the Caps 3rd string goalie! I hope LT is close to coming back from his concussion, because 1 strange injury to Lindgren and we would have no choice but use Shep in the playoffs!

The Rags lost 7-3 to the Canes, eliminating them from making the playoffs! Same thing happened to the Islanders losing 4-3 in a shootout to the Flyers. Technically, all the Habs have to do is get 1 win in their last 3 games to lock the 2nd Wild Card spot.

I am pleased to not play the Rangers in Round 1. Tix at MSG are so pricey that it’s cheaper for NY fans to take the train, eat a big steak dinner, and stay over at a nice hotel plus see a playoff game in DC. So they show up in numbers and make asses of themselves. Earlier this year I had a R*gs fan sitting next to me going on and on about how Ovie is bloated and slow and will never break the goals record and the Caps will suck until he retires blah blah blah. Last year Round 1 was just brutal since we were never in those games in DC and they were just loud and obnoxious as hell. I know, you pay for a ticket means you get to cheer for your team, but if we have a higher percentage of home fans in the arena it is more fun for us home fans.

Just how the Jackets have feel when Caps invade Columbus. Just kidding.... But not about the Pens, Hawks, Wings fans. :)

Caps win tomorrow, the Jackets are out of the playoffs and the Caps focus on the playoffs.

Of all of the Metro teams, I have no hate for the Caps. If there was no Wilson, I might even find them likeable.

Good luck on the playoffs. Hope you guys beat the Habs. Don't worry about this game.

Since blue jackets were the only thing stopping a bunch of hillbillys leveling our city we appreciate the name

When thos game started i didn't really give a crap. It's nothing game vs. Desperate opponent and players sitting. Expected a loss here for sure.

Somehow they still managed to disappoint me. If the kid is playing better than the rest of you then atleast protect him against the vets. Humiliating display.

Bring in the Undertaker.

I hope dropping the mitts was good for him. That punk he went with was much bigger and that was his first mistake perhaps. Kids need to find their place in the league and he learned his place pretty quick. Better to rip that band-aid off than wonder and being anxious yet gun shy for years afraid to throw a hit.

I did like the look of all the guys on the ice having his back led by Strome & TVR.

He's gotta work on that left... by using it to grab on these righties and protect himself better. NHL fight lessons start with knowing your opponents Orge or Keith Acton heavy middle light throws R L or both, and then do the jersey grab.
