Can you blame them when their goalie is on pace to give up 9 goals more than expected? The game should be 2 or 3-1 max, even with below average goaltending. He’s been horrendous, so while it sucks that he has to eat it, I don’t really feel bad for him at all.
Better hope they flip a switch in the playoffs.

We clinched and our playing a preseason lineup. But not good
The fact that I waited until it was 0-6 to say to myself, "I have better things to do with my time than watch this game" makes me question how valuable my time actually is.
Honestly, you either fold, dump the puck, shorten the game as much as possible, and just get out of here, or you go out for blood, hit like freight trains, and make sure Fantilli gets decked (because part of the team cohesion that has made the Caps so good is based on standing up for your teammates, whether the hit was legal or not). Not sure which one is the right one (I know what I prefer as a fan), but it can't be good for a team to get punked like this...

Their xG% is 1.5% higher since the 4 nations break than it was before. Their goaltending has been horrendous though and it’s not due to giving up more defensively, as their xGA/60 is 9th best in the league since then.

I know obviously you want to play well going into the playoffs but the East is won. Players are resting, etc.
But I don’t think there is any correlation to how well you are playing right before the playoffs and how well you play in the playoffs.

Uhh, feel so bad for Shepard. Finally getting the game and plays the worst game of his career. His composure has alway kept him out of NHL but this is the night it really cements him as an career AHLer.
Not the kind of story you wanted to see here. Id actually like to see him start tomorrows game to and get a ”forget about it” instead of team putting this one on him. Either way, tough spot to bounce back for Bears playoff-run.
