GDT: Caps 2013 World Juniors Thread

First Barber goal was mostly Glachenyuk (he was basically carrying 3 defenders with him, tossed it to Barber for a tap in) but the second was a pretty nasty breakaway deke. Aided by the goalie being off balance, but a nice display of skill all around.

Admittedly I haven't followed the draft prospects closely this year, but is there any chance we can get Elias Lindholm or will he be a high draft pick?

Just watched the Sweden-Russia tilt and I must say, Forsberg is a tremendous talent. Big, fast, outstanding skill, offensive flair etc. It'll be interesting to watch him develop over the years. I don't think the Corey Perry comparisons are outlandish at all (sans the snarl quotient of course). His offensive skill-set reminds me of Perry's when he was younger and before he took his game to an MVP level.

He hasnt had a great tournament but he hasnt had a bad one either -- pretty much par for the course.
I'll take it.

Is Forsberg eligible for the 2014 WJC or is he past the cutoff? NHL announcers were saying a lot of complimentary things re: forsberg.

Pretty sure he's eligible... wasn't he among the youngest players in the draft, just barely eligible? He's still 18, no?

(EDIT: yeah, he's a '94)

Nichushkin with the OT winner for Bronze.

That was one hilarious tournament for Canada.

Dangerous turnover by Forsberg. That's happened too often.

I'm not sure Sweden can keep up with the US.
