Post-Game Talk: Capitals win game 1, lead series 1-0

You conveniently cut off the rest of my post.
Conveniently? No I said that I don't get the examples you are given. So...refs want Washington to win? But what about Anderson push towards Wilson? And do you think there was no other penalties we could have taken?

There is no giant conspiracy to get to the Habs. If so, they would not have gone to the review to get the followthrough by Evans.

If you think Arber will always be too dumb to acclimate himself to the rules, well trade him this summer while his value is the highest. I'd say it's a mistake. As far as I'm concerned, I don't think Radko Gudas is the one that cost the Cup to Florida in 22-23.

good game overall
but #20 can hit some
#8 is scary out there
CC is working hard no worried about getting hit
Lane is playing ok too, keep your head up

I hate to say this, but if MSL puts pezz in for beef, just never know

Every time someone criticizes Laine’s abysmal 5on5 play, the fanboys say they’re “blaming Laine” for the loss lmfao

Stockholm syndrome
Pretty obvious some of you are out for blood and he’s the easy target. Highest paid player on the team.

When he doesn’t score goals = he’s lazy.

Last night's refs would have crucified Arber.
Gallagher got cross checked in the face and nothing happened. Who knows what the refs would have done.

And who cares, it’s a 7 game series. You should show the team you’re not willing to back down physically. The team got manhandled. It would have been nice to give out our own punishment.

The Habs already have Matheson, Guhle, Hutson and Struble as lefty’s playing, they’re not taking out Savard and playing another lefty on his offside against a heavy forecheck team like the Caps.

It’s Struble vs Xhekaj…and for the amount of minutes either would play, I don’t understand why this is such a talking point.
To me, it's a plus, not a must. You still need physicality in playoffs. Never remember a team just taking it...and winning it unless you have supreme extra talent everywhere.

So add him. And then figure out if you want to change the lines though I don't see it. Unless you can switch players from the Newhook and the Evans lines. But if this year's is a learning year....you wouldn't want to see what Arber can offer in those circumstances?

Stop.

You’re not bitching about Laine like most people here? You’re calling his supporters fan boys ect. I’m saying don’t be a sheep and actually watch the game
I’m sorry that you don’t get it, but I’ll also add that I’ve watched almost every minute of Habs hockey this year and he is not a good player

Physicality can come in many forms, not just punishing the opponent, which to be honest, Xhekaj doesn’t play enough for that to be a big factor when he DOES play.

I saw the Caps take runs at Habs players, I also saw the Habs take runs at theirs, I saw tiny Lane Hutson rub out one of the Caps forwards when retrieving a puck deep in our zone.

He didn’t lay him out but he was physical.

The Habs aren’t going to out-muscle the Caps, that’s not a game they can or should try to play.

There might be a time for Xhekaj but it ain’t now.

You’re denying that they got obliterated physically? Are you blind?
Yes, I’m 100% denying it.

Caps were physical in the 1st period and Habs were obviously on their toes but after that, the story of the game was not the Caps physicality.

Halfway through the 2nd the Caps didn’t have any pushback. The Habs roped-a-doped them into playing their game.

Sorry to burst the lazy narrative bubble but that’s the truth.

lol then there’s no point is discussing further if you’re in complete denial.

I didn’t say they controlled the play all game. But they were far more physical, finished way more checks. Wishing it wasn’t true doesn’t make it false.

Same here and I can say he’s not worth what he makes and he can be lazy but this game he had nothing to do with the loss. If anything he drew a penalty that wasn’t called that led to the goal. Matheson was by far the worst player last night but whatever. Laine played well most of the game and his entire line was horrible. Laine looked like a legend compared to Demidov. The whole line was absolutely pathetic. FYI no hate on Demidov it’s almost expected with him being so green but maybe that contributed to Laine’s game. That line is a disaster

This idea that Xhekaj is going to magically change the complexion of the physicality of this team against Washington is silly. Sure, you can put him in. But that doesn't mean we aren't going to continue to get manhandled. The team is built the way the team is built.

Being physical is so f***ing overrated. If anything trying to hit everything that moves just puts you out of position. Maybe Pezzetta should play on the first line 25 min a game since it’s so important

When someone doesn’t agree with your opinion, it doesn’t mean they’re in denial.

Just means I didn’t see the game the way you did.

If thats too much for you to handle, perhaps a message board where people exchange different opinions isn’t for you?

They finished more checks because they chased the puck half of the game.

1st period went EXACTLY like everyone thought it would.

2nd and 3rd period their size and physicality was not THE factor.

You see it different and I’m Ok with that, I don’t have to have a meltdown and accuse of being in denial because of it.

92 out, 91 in. Give the team to the kids and let them work the magic. I'd also sit #8.

Yet we lost because they were more physical. Their captain was a beast and played hard, went to the net and won the game against, lo and behold, our softest line.

Not a meltdown. Just find it hilarious someone actually thinks we didn’t get manhandled physically. No defenceman could make a breakout pass without getting hit after. But that’s okay, it’s not like these things add up in a 7 game series.

They didn’t lose because of physicality. Montreal shit pumped them in the third and they adapted to their physicality. They’ll be fine

The team is playing too soft — we need Xhekaj in the lineup. Sometimes a loss that sends a message and puts the opponent on edge is better than one like yesterday’s. At least make it hurt and injure them.
