Would love to somehow see Nash traded for a big physical forward with some skill but its a pipe dream.

So basically you want Nash for Lucic

I'd want Gorton fired on the spot.

19 goals given up in 4 games without the worst defenseman in the NHL.

Did I read that wrong?

I mean if he was replaced by a top 4 defenseman, you'd have an argument. But he's been replaced by Staal...and Summers, who are all in the competition for the worst NHL defenseman.

Do we have to hear some more fluff from duguay now? Ugh. Bring on Maloney so I can actually hear someone rip this team apart

I truly believe this season is salvageable. we have too many good players and an experienced head coach to let this continue. They are smart hockey people and we have resources. This crap will not last all season. We will be ready and healthy for the playoffs and that's what counts.

I agree. This team will no doubt make a comeback and be strong again.

The big question is: When?

This is what rock bottom feels like, right? We can only go up from here?

I don't think Lundqvist takes most of the blame for this, but he's clearly not in the right mental game right now.

He's not giving the team anything in terms of a big save right now. Slumping hard. You knew he wouldn't carry on his play from earlier in the year, though.

I actually think we've played well offensively the last few weeks. Kreider, Miller, even Boyle are starting to contribute offensively.

Can the organization permanently cut Summers? Even release him from Hartford. This guy might be the worst player to play for the Rangers in years.

i don't think anyone is arguing that a rookie (skjei) and a fringe AHL dman (Summers) are better than Girardi...

The defense was bad before Girardi was out, and it's just as bad now. The team is in a serious funk, and there's a problem both in the locker room and on the ice... however, both Skjei and Summers have a cap hit that is 1/5th of Girardi's... That's a serious issue--if you don't see it, I don't know what else to tell you.

Girardi doesn't *fix* any problem on this team. He's simply a placeholder at this point, a placeholder that is taking up 8% of the teams salary cap

Summer of 2015. The opportunity was there to trade for youth. Take a step back. Reopen the window next year and beyond.

They chose not to do this. Now this year AND the future are in jeopardy.

Hope this group of guys turns it around. They need to go back to fundamentals. They're totally out of whack.

I can't even come up with something positive to say. This is the absolute worst they have looked in I don't know how long. I liked it better when we were bad but lost games 2-1.

Actually, quite a few people thought Skjei would come in and replace Girardi the second he hit the ice.

And the defense is quite a bit worse without him. It's a big difference, too.

Felt like Summers and Boyle were out for every goal against. Just a terrible pair. And there were matched with the second line! Over and over and over. Just terrible decision making.
