Couple strong kills, no power play time, price looks good, tie game.

Could be worse, I don't see us being eaten alive out there.

Hey, it's one period. We could pick it up. But they're doing a great job of gaining possession in their own end and transitioning it fast.

Good, tight game. Expected some sloppy hockey given the early start, so this is nice to see. Caps have the edge, but we're right there with them.

All great to be happy that DD is not in the lineup....but DLR isn't good either. And his size means nothing right now.

Disagree, for three reasons.

1. He made some good plays, outside that boneheaded penalty.

2. He's been good without the puck.

3. His speed and style fits the system perfectly.

With the lines like they are now, the Habs look real fast.

DD isn't a fit in any way.

What is actually a very rude awakening for most Habs fans is the announcers talking about Habs poor record against the top tier teams in the league. The record being 4-11. Habs basically killing lower tiered teams.
So its not surprising that we are struggling against the best team in the league.
This is a good test today. If the Habs have any shot at anything this year they have to give the Caps a good run today and build on it.

I don't process the finer aspects of the game like some of you can, I just see the big things like goals, penalties, pressure, etc.

That's why I never criticize therrien, I wouldn't know the difference between a good coached team and a poorly coached one.

Again, stats without context. The Habs had what 7 players out during most of that period? I think those stats are misleading. I'm not saying we're the #1 contender but we're one top six forward away from being serious contenders.

I knew it was bad but no idea it was that bad.

Right. We were essentially a borderline playoff team roster wise for 2/3rds the season. So beating the teams we were supposed to beat and losing to the ones with better rosters.

Pac-Danault-Radu should never be broken up.

I totally disagree... Galchenyuk and Radulov should play together. Pacioretty is the type of player who can produce by himself, with anyone... Pacioretty-Danault-Shaw until Gallagher comes back.

Hopefully Duchene for Pacioretty.

Maybe numbers need context? Were any of those on back to backs? Were any of those with significant injuries? How many were close games? How many were blow outs? Also the stat is 4-10-1 not 4-11. Whether you like it or not overtime losses are counted differently then losses.

Very honest post. I respect that. HF is famous for people who concentrate on only a few aspects of the game and talk about the others like they're actually paying attention.

If you guys wanna know why DD gets so much "favourable treatment", he was on the ice today skating alone at 8am...If Galchenyuk had DD's work ethic he'd be a top 5 C in the league.

Do you not recall my snowball's chance in Hell remark when discussing Habs/Cup in the same sentence?
We aren't as bad as that record But we still have problems facing teams with good goaltending.

Patches will probably go cold again and that is when you need to move him around some.
The other two have shown remarkable consistency.
