You need a save on at least one of goals 2 or 3.

Goal 2 was a little bit more forgivable, as it was close range and there was at least a bit of a screen.

Turnovers happen all game. That's why you have a goalie.

It’s also unrealistic to expect a save on every clean look. Yeah, you’re an NHL goalie, but you’re also facing NHL shooters. You know I’ve agreed with you a lot on Blackwood, but he’s played well the past few games, so if he gets sniped cleanly on such an egregious turnover like that, I’m looking at Bratt, not Blackwood.

Turnover in our zone and Blackwood gives up a softie. We get a PP 15 seconds later. 30 seconds into the PP Bratt passes it right to Sheary who gets a wide open look from the slot or so and beats Blackwood top corner

Cal is sporting a really solid .842% rn.

Honestly, I don't know what's wrong with this goalie. He didn't look that bad last year, but Quick was quite significantly better behind the same team.

He looks really bad this year though in the games he's played.

I thought he looked really good when he was first called up in 18-19 when one of Quick or Campbell were injured. Like a potential stud, I'm not gonna lie.

I sometimes wonder why he was given the contract he was though. I know it happened before his terrible season last year, but it was still too risky for the body of work he had before that. Which wasn't bad, but it wasn't great enough for how limited it was, if you know what I mean.

There was nothing he could have done on the shorty, but Mack got a piece of goal #1 and goal #2. All of the big saves he made in the first have been completely negated by letting in two softies.

Though I'm more frustrated with the offense right now, Lindgren is not a good goalie and he's been down and out quite a bit this game. But we still can't find ways to bury it. They are getting to cute on the outside, just crank it on net and get some rebounds.

The first game two goals against one by Palat and cannot remember the other I think was Severson was blamed on Blackwood by many fans who can’t analyze a hockey game and understand that. Other players need culpability. Watch the replays.

The second goal in this game was also a bouncing puck that was shot when the puck was bouncing. Any goalie will tell you they CANNOT read that. Did you even play hockey?

Agreed completely. The finishing is officially a problem now. And it can't stay a problem because as I've said all along, we do not have the goaltending to be winning these close games. Certainly not with Blackwood. Maybe with Vanecek, but I'm pretty skeptical until he proves otherwise.

Blackwood would get much more of the benefit of the doubt on a game like this if his last 60 games weren't terrible.

And once again, he can't put together a more than 5 game streaks of really good play since February/March of 2020.
