I think a Bruce and Scotty coaching staff can take this roster to the next level.
Nooooo!!!!!Would you be willing to bring up Senn? Or do we just sign a vet backup anyway?
And yet when he doesn't play next week and Cory looks like trash, it will be the fault of this pathetic roster we're icing (and Severson) and not our choice of washed up, charred beyond recognition goalie we're using.
And yet Blackwood has allowed 6 goals on his last 128 shots or so? Behind a team that's worse than anything any other goalie (other than maybe Domingue in St. Louis) has had to play behind on our team.
It seemed like he was scoring more, but I didn't realize it was that muchSeverson has 15 pts in his last 20 by the way.
When goalies start making saves (which is something they haven't done since the first two years of his NHL career) Severson doesn't look quite as bad.People still hate Severson but man do I love him. Sure he has his gaffes that end up in the back of the net on occasion but he's not nearly as bad as many on this board and other social media outlets would lead you to believe.
Nooooo!!!!!
If Senn has any chance at being our backup next year, then why the hell aren't they calling him up and carrying him around for the rest of the year, while we're trying to force Cory and Louie on this team? I'd put him back in the minors.
You might be right but I think Butcher isn't very good regardless of who is net. The team looks a zillion times better with Blackwood behind them though, that's for certain. When goalies start making saves (which is something they haven't done since the first two years of his NHL career) Severson doesn't look quite as bad.
There's a correlation with burning hatred for Severson in GDT's where Blackwood isn't playing.
Don't get me wrong, it still happens plenty of times with Blackwood, but it's a lot more prevalent in the Louie/Cory/Kinkaid games.
Same goes for Will Butcher.
The metro is so tight I don’t see Washington as a lock for the playoffs at allEh sort of reminds me of a lot of our first-place seasons when we'd go through the dog days in February and March. It's tough to get up for games when you're already in the playoffs and just looking to stay healthy and fine-tune. This was definitely the type of game we'd no-show in the Caps' position.

What?So you're saying we have no one in the minors at Goaltender that's worth s--t?
I was making a suggestion....doesn't mean it will happen.
I think he already is fine there. Obviously a more stay at home type of reliable LD partner is preferable but I love Severson. If the Devils don’t need to trade him to upgrade the roster and can get him a solid LHD defensive-minded partner, he’ll be fine (or even great) on the second pairing.
What?I love it that the 700th goal will be forever BITTER-SWEET for Ovy and the Craps of Washington.
Well maybe Senn is worth something, he just needs more minor league time.So you're saying we have no one in the minors at Goaltender that's worth s--t?

Im thinking they will give Cory a majority of away games to keep him away from the wrath of the fanbase lmaoCredit to Nasreddine and the staff for going with Blackwood for today and not trying to do the stupid goalie rotation thing we did last year at the end, as well as for a lot of the post-deadline of the 16-17 season.
What?
Its not forever bittersweet because its history and people will remember his 700th goal, not that the Devils won a meaningless game...
