OT: Capitals Cinema Club: TV and Movies

Four Lions - 7.2/10 ... sharp witty writing, not a mockumentary but close to it ... slap stick Naked Gun type but with some real depth as well.

Kneecap and this one .. I do highly recommend both for a international vibe comedy/drama selection

Just get real high and enjoy a good comedy that also makes you think

** on prime? for another 8 days

The original Night Court ... season 1 starts off rough but hits its stride by the end. Season 2 and beyond hold up well.

7/10 ... a classic 70s action/drama that I had never seen ... sharp wit and dialogue at times ... ton of great known actors

streaming on MGM ... which apparently we are still paying for? idk .. just go to work and make more money I suppose is all a middle aged man is go for.

Like the whole series, it's been good, not great.

Some of the best Magic fights of all time though….so far.

No idea how they will pull off Dumai's Wells if the series gets that far.

And I'm wondering how they pull off Min when
she hooks up with a major unnamed character
. My wager is on
she hooks up with a bunch of Aes Sedai
.

Heretic - 6/10 ... read the reviews, saw the RT scores and fell into this weird re-occuring trap where if I have high expectations for a movie and it doesnt meet those high expectations exactly, I find myself liking the movie less then I think I would if I went in blind

As an atheist who abhors christian nationalism and sitting next to my (non practicing) mormon wife .... I did enjoy the religious banter

I loved Heretic. Went into it completely cold, hasn't seen trailers or read anything about it.

Hugh Grant was amazing. I watched it on a plane so maybe that had something to do with it (captive entertainment?) I am going to watch it again on the big screen at home

Watched yesterday, really enjoyed it. Love how HG acted. Very different from your typical vibe in that type of horror.

Almost finished first season.

It is v f***ing weird show. Almost gave up on it after two episodes, but it has me intrigued.
We are on S2E3 .. the last 4 episodes of season 1 kick some TV ass.

Gladiator 2 - 7/10 .. cant believe Im saying this for a Ridley Scott movie but was hoping for a lot more of the landscape slowly panaway scenes

Great pace and action .. but I like Ridley Scott movies for the 3 hour run times with 2 and half hours of it being silent landscape artsy scenes and huge sets

Would love the 3 hour version to this 2 hr cut
