This is the kind of game that in years past would be a frustrating loss. Playing a hot team on a Sunday, several days after a blowout win? Yeah I thought this would be a good measuring stick game.

There's something different about this squad. They aren't perfect by any means but they're winning games that in years past they wouldn't.

Keep it going. Don't stop.

The difference has to be work ethics. Rod is selling and the team is buying.

I think you guys are overly negative on this. The Canes are one of 4 NHL teams with 3 consecutive 110 point seasons (and it would be 4 if not for covid).

If you want to talk about losing games like this in the Karmanos era, fine; but this isn't common in recent history as far as I can tell.

It's just that with this particular squad, it feels different than before. That's what I was getting at.

That's fine. I just disagree with your assessment that "This is the kind of game that in years past would be a frustrating loss.".

The Canes, the last 4 years have not had many of those types of games that ended in a frustrating loss.

Very solid win against a very good team. Had a couple scary moments and the last 2 minutes of the 1st should probably be criticized, but overall, a great game.

Necas is obviously on quite a heater, which is amazing to see, because this off-season could have easily led to a very disgruntled player and a very different outlook on the ice.

KK is also looking like a different player this year. He's reminding me of a younger Jordan. Very quietly making the right moves, being physical, and occasionally getting rewarded with a point here and there.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I feel like Drury has become a bit lost in the shuffle. I know it's the 4th line, so ice time is limited, but both Blake and Carrier are having much bigger impacts than Drury seems to be having. He's a smart kid and RBA trusts him, so I imagine he'll bounce back.

That's only like 3 seasons in the league and franchise history.

Small sample size, bro

Nonsense. History from before Brind'Amour and Dundon came on board is absolutely meaningless.

Are you really going to use Karmanos era Canes with spending to the cap minimum as a comparison to now?

Irrelevant sample size bro.

When they rebuild the area around the rink they need to rename Karmanos street. Dude was absolute garbage
