To :nucks
D Connor Murphy retained at 25% ($3.3M cap hit thru next season)

To :hawks
LW Nils Hoglander ($3M cap hit thru 2027-28 season)
Canucks 2025 1st round pick

- Canucks get top 4 RD they have looked and Murphy is signed thru next season and with Hawks retaining 25% it is down to just $3.3M cap hit. They also move on from Hoglander who's contract extension looks like a mistake and appears to be on outs with Nucks coach

- Hawks get a 3rd 1st rounder for this coming draft (Hawks + Leafs are the other two) and take on Hoglander as reclamation project and who even with his struggles this year should be better than the likes of Pat Maroon, Joey Anderson, etc currently on Hawks roster

I wouldn’t move the Canucks’ 1st at this point for Murphy.

In what world is Murphy worth anything close to that package? Sorry not trying to be rude but I’ve watched him play and he is not a game changer, breaker or anything that would cost close to that package.

Something a lot closer to the Zadorov package would be appropriate.

3rd and maybe a 5th.

Yes, teams always trade for a player just to trade them back to their original team after a couple months. Happens all the time🤪
or in special circumstances such as this where quick doesn't want to go, we don't want to trade him, but 'nucks need him
But you could have Quick for that handful of games!
at time of prop, it was not known Demko would be back so soon

even better, prefer to keep Quick

Bern, I feel the Oilers should deal for Shesterkin and trade Skinner, probably both Skinners, to even the $$$ out along with multiple 1st round picks, a few 2nds and probably a prospect.

The Rags could flip those assets for improvements in their line up as management sees they aren't good enough right now.

I'd like you to put together a proposal.
shesty worth more than late 1sts
and if you want Rs to flip other assets, presuming they are acceptable, you have to pay for that

also we are Rangers or Rs for short if not abbreviated nyr
we are not 'rags'

Demko is back next week
Yeah but for how long is the thing with Demko. Having Lankinen is great but the third option for that situation can't be Silovs. Demko is a ticking time bomb and that's the reality for him, he can't play that much because you risk that injury he has to live with, getting worse so Lankinen being able to play a lot is great. But carrying a third that is reliable would be key too. You don't want a situation like last year's playoffs.

Insurance is key.

I still don’t think they’ll make a big move for a RD instead of a LD. At least not yet. Hronek might be long term but unless it’s season-ending, he’ll be back and I think Willander is going to get a look at the end of the year. Myers isn’t going to be dumped and Brannstrom can play the right.

Meanwhile Soucy has been terrible and there’s more options for a LD who can hopefully solidly the second pairing. I still think Pettersson is a major target for management.
