The only teams that dropped two spots are us and Edmonton and I doubt they care much.

This is a terrible result. Not because #5 is a bad spot to pick normally but because we're exactly in the spot where Benning is most likely to **** up and draft for need instead of BPA.

Tkachuk or Dubois would have been an excellent pick and should have made this a safe position. But given Benning showing his hand, basically the only possible way to prevent disaster now is if Edmonton drafts need over BPA and Dubois falls in our lap.

Tkachuk or Dubois on a line with Horvat and Virtanen is going to be great. Not as great as Matthews though

Not only will the Leafs add Matthews, they also have extra 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders over the next two seasons to add talent to surround Matthews/Marner with. Hats off to TO, that's a franchise building the right way.

Yeah.... That's not gonna work for me when I've sat through 82 games of complete and utter ****. Pick Dubois, the BPA at 5, and hope he becomes as good as one of the top 3.
