I own the crown on being wrong though.i enjoy being wrong on this one. wow.
1st like center for 2/3C, top4D and maybe a 3rd paring RHD. If Chytil can become a 2C or be flipped for 1 and Mancini becomes a 3rd paring guy that can really hurt then this will be a pretty good trade.Great deal! Miller for Chytil and MP signed long term doesn’t sound so bad. Normally I don’t like to combine trades but there is little doubt Alvin was working these in tandem.
Frank tweets this while tears stream down his face.
Because the alternative is overpaying them to the extent that the contract becomes untradeable anyways. Why are GM's handing out so many freaking No Move clauses like candy? It comes back and bites them in the butt later.
I'm not sure 'no move' clauses in a contract mean what they used to. When a player and a team reach an impasse like the Canucks did with Miller, it's almost automatic that the player will agree to 'waive it' to go somewhere else. Why are GM's handing out so many freaking No Move clauses like candy? It comes back and bites them in the butt later.

O’Connor for like 1.5 would be awesomeHoly f***.
That’s a crazy contract for a legit 2D in his prime. Trade now looks fantastic. Great work to get in front of the market for this player.
Now get O’Connor signed.

Earlier today he was saying MP isn't an efficient puck mover and isn't what the Canucks needed on D.I must have missed this, what was Seravalli saying before?

Kept wondering if there was a better fit but when he was asked for names he just deflected
Yeah i agree, i feel like he is the type of player they thought they were getting with Heinen.O’Connor should probably come in around Heinen’s AAV. There is absolutely zero way he signs for $1.5.
I’d go close to $3 million on him. I think he’s a really, really solid player.

To add to @Nuckles reply, the overall tone of the interview was so weird. He was shitting all over the trade but not really offering any reason or alternative, even when pressed multiple times by H&B.Earlier today he was saying MP isn't an efficient puck mover and isn't what the Canucks needed on D.

I think it is actually better than that once Hughes is back in the lineup, but then I think a good part of the problem with the defence this season has been people being forced to play above their level....
Looking forward to having THREE legitimate top-4D men in the lineup.

I'll add even more context. Seravalli went on Calagry radio Monday, and said MP3 was only a #5D. The Calgary guys seem a bit confused, but we're even more caught off guard when he said Seth Jones was a top pairing D and a "#2D all day".To add to @Nuckles reply, the overall tone of the interview was so weird. He very clearly hadn't watched the two games since the trade, or perhaps any of MPs games.
He questioned the timing of the trade, in my opinion, coming from a place of, the Canucks aren't making the playoffs why would they try to improve the team now? Said he thought there as better options but blanked when asked for examples.
Looks like it worked out for Vancouver, they got the guy they wanted and locked him up to a great deal by getting ahead of the field.
