I might biased because this is a player I have liked for a couple of years now. But this is a great signing, the term does not bother me much we see this all the time that this type of defence man tend to age pretty well, look at Myers for all the flack he has gotten he has aged really well.

Not resigning Zadorov was the correct decision and has worked out rather brilliantly for us

The only mistake with letting him go was trying to replace him with 6-7th defensemen and waiting so long to finally accept that wasn't working.

Thankfully, if there's one thing we can say about Allvin, it's that he isn't afraid to fix those mistakes even if it means dealing guys who just signed here a few months ago.

Zadorov may have also played a role in keeping Miller's locker room behavior in check.

He also could've equally been on the clown show side of the locker room, he's got that vibe IMO. We'll never know! I did like him and was sorry to see him go. We have more of a Swedish swagger now, for better or worse, we'll see.

Tidy business. Seems they learned from the Zadorov move where they could have signed him shortly after acquisition but decided to wait and ended up losing him.

Not phased on the term, the cap hit would have probably been upwards of $6.5M on 5 years.

Strikes me as a guy who could age more like Tanev due to the nature of his game.

Kind of fascinating that Mike Rupp was on the NHL network yesterday and talked about Marcus Pettersson being a top 5 defensive defenseman in the game and here Dom's model gives him negative score for defensive impact.

It's probably because the Penguins have been ass this year

His defensive numbers have fallen off this year - higher event hockey that on net has been good but hurt his defensive impacts.

He was hugely positive on the defensive side in the model the four seasons prior.
