Good luck to Patera. He played fine in his preseason game after a shaky camp but the crease became crowded after the Lankinen signing
Frees up a contract spot for the Canucks who probably should have just had him on PTO.
This helps out Ty Young who looked like he was headed to the ECHL but might now be able to back up Tolopilo in the AHL until Demko returns

Oh well, I guess that opens up a spot for Ty Young in Abbotsford. He's pretty 'green', but in a limited role he could be fine. Then there's Jonathan Lemieux on a minor league contract--but probably ticketed for Kalamazoo.

But Gawd help the Abby Canucks if Tolopilo ever goes down. But I suppose either Silovs or Lankinen (probably Silovs) could eventually be sent down to fill in. But that assumes Demko is back sooner rather than later.

Oh fer cryin out loud! It never fails! I go out and get a Patera Canucks jersey, and he is immediately scooped up by Boston.

Holy shit this just reminded me that I saw someone walking up Victoria Drive yesterday morning in a DiGiuseppe sweater and said "well I guess he's getting cut" out loud to myself. I'm so sorry, Phil.

If Swayman does sign then likely Patera back on waivers and team can get him back and send him to minors without putting him on waivers. See this as probable.
