I can see why he never sticked with one team for longer than 1 year

He's the type of player who doesn't really connect with his linemates yet can look dangeriously carrying the puck
This is why Jan Bulis drove me nuts. Had talent but would go off and do his own stupid thing.

This is why he’ll be in the bottom 6, he has his own offensive flair but doesn’t connect off of linemates much, bottom 6 is strong defensively and can cover for his defensive woes while he provides the occasional offensive spark.

At least he can create his own offence sometimes with his raw skill unlike Virtanen

Virtanen actually created his own offence. He created breakaway opportunities that he wasn’t able to convert into goals often enough. He certainly wasn’t just a beneficiary of playing with better players.

I've been impressed with Sprongs vision. He does a good job of selling that he's going to shoot and then slides the puck east/west for some dangerous chances. Reminds me of what the Rangers were doing so well on the PP last year.

He's a fine Kuzmenko replacement. Less flashy but faster. I'm looking forward to seeing what Pettersson can flanked by Spring and Debrusk.

Still waiting to see him develop chemistry with EP40. Haven't seen it yet, but I generally don't put much weight into the preseason. I'll check in again at the 10 game mark of the regular season.

Can’t possibly be worse than Mikheyev lol, Canucks have 3 or 4 good wingers that can play alongside DeBrusk & Petey.

It'll be fascinating to see if Tocchet and Sprong can find some sort of mutual equilibrium between his offense and his defense.

It didn't happen with Kuzmenko, Podkolzin or even Hoglander, early on. Undoubtedly there will be times this season where the relationship will be seriously strained.

I read "warts" as "farts" for some reason, and I was reaaaally confused for a sec
The farts are what gives his shot that extra bit of momentum.

Sherwood, Sprong, Hoglander, and Heinen are all better options to play on the 2nd line than Mikheyev.

5 if you also included Lekkerimaki later in the season.

Here we go again. Two games in, and Sprong has been stapled to the pine in both third periods.

And Tocchet called him out in his post-game presser for making a bad read on the second Flyers goal. I just can't see this relationship ending anywhere but on the rocks.

Frankly I'd rather have seen Lekkerimaki stick around.......but apparently he's now hurt in the AHL. Always ambivalent about sending really top prospects to play in the AHL.
