Yeah, Lindgren sucks. I'm not sure any Rangers fans who are not enamored with #toffness will say otherwise. Only place that people still think Lindgren is good is social media. However, there's inefficiencies on the executive level of running a hockey team. A lot of people running hockey teams love players like Lindgren. There is still a lot of dumb hockey mythology. But yeah I won't sugarcoat it you're right. And I brought up the same point as you and the answer was what I gave you. Hockey mythology overrates players seen as tough and warriors and have playoff experience.

He was never great but his game fell off the face of the earth the last two years. Honestly, there's just still too many people in leadership positions that think blocks, hits, and being stuck in your zone make you a good defenseman.

I would definitely keep him if I were NY, my proposal was more Vancouver GM mode in terms of what I'd try to get if I were Allvin. That cap space from Trouba could really end up saving their season if they can make a big move soon and turn the ship around.

Unless Lindgren is able to recover his game he will be in Europe within 2 seasons. We saw the same type of decline with other defensemen, namely Kevin Klein, sometimes they just can't cut it any more.

Chytil on the other hand is a very exciting player when he's healthy, exceptional downhill skater with the puck, which won't necessarily be reflected in a base level perusal of his stats.

Iā€™d offer up Mercer and Casey. Only thing is who would be needed to be added to make the cap work .

Hamilton - wonā€™t waive plus him plus Mercer plus Casey is an overpayment.

Palat - canā€™t see VanC taking him

Tatar - not sure if itā€™s enough salary.

As a Canucks fan, I will take Mercer + Casey, with Tatar (it's enough space) :5:
 
People shouldn't be surprised that an offer for Miller stinks. That is what happens with NMCs. Not to mention, the negativity surrounding him. Vancouver is dealing from the ultimate position of weakness. Getting a 1st would actually be kind of impressive.

Not to mention, the Rangers are in disarray. Would it be the worst thing in the world if they gave up a pick with very liberal protection, like playoff protection? The Rangers then finish outside of the playoffs and give the Canucks what projects to be a lottery pick in the McKenna draft.

Tell me about it. We signed two of them this off season (Forbort, Desharnais) and Tocchet is infatuated with another (Juulsen).

Which, regrettably, makes me think he'd love Lindgren.

That's a pretty horrendous return for a team that wants to win, unless they think they can unlock something in Chytil and keep him healthy.

Mercer plus for ROR is too much . I really want to add ROR but not for Mercer plus.
Back to Miller topic . Maybe yuu are right where adding Boeser instead of Miller might make more sense . I canā€™t see Jack wanting to play wing and I canā€™t see all 3 of Jack Nico Miller all being used at C . One of them would not be getting enough ice time that they deserve or feel like they deserve and might cause issues . Unless they use Miller to take draws for Jack and then Ja k goes back to C and Miller on the wing . But that seems like a waste to me.
 
I have a feeling why it fell through is because the canucks are desperate to get something better but miller is only willing to waive to the Rangers.
The rash of new teams interested being brought up in Vancouver, and the performance by Alvin saying everythings ok(unless you offer better) in the last 48hrs reeks of desperation.
Hope I'm wrong though

I would trade Petersson over Miller. One is a super soft, nice guy player who is overpaid,
and the other is super competitive playoff performer. It doesn't look like it will happen though.
I wouldn't trade either though.
