He’s honestly a top 10-15 player all-time for our franchise. Terrible to see it end this way. At his peak, we loved this guy like few others.

It is the opposite. The team is blocking out all the noise around them and focusing on the game

Canucks can still salvage this season and make the playoffs. If they move Miller today and get 2 roster players suddenly the rumour and drama ends and the team can move on.

This is why it’s so crazy to me they haven’t made a move yet. They can still compete this year if they deal with this. So take the best deal on the table & move on. Dump him if you have to. Holding out for a better return at this point feels like “loser thinking” IMO.

Carlo or Zadorov alongside Zacha plus a high pick is what it would take from my perspective. Zads is a borderline cap dump , there to match contracts but useful from our perspective. Zacha is a decent 2nd line center. Pick compensates for quality.

There’s probably a deal to be made with Carlo and Zacha. What stinks for Vancouver is, this is more the type of deal they’ll be getting, because they need production today. When they’d get much more value with futures.

It’s just so hard to get proper value this time of the year. For any Boston fan saying no to this deal? Give it 2-3 periods with Miller on the Bruins.

I have a feeling Miller will be traded to the Washington Capitals.

If this whole situation had come to a head last season or at the beginning of the summer I think it definitely could've happened, but the Caps already made their big move for a center with PLD

Unless drury has literally 0 functional brain cells, something i still can’t completely rule out despite simultaneously not being able to rule out the possibility of him ultimately proving to be a very good gm….there’s no shot laf would be part of any jt miller trade.

van might understandably push that, maybe even make his inclusion a dealbreaker…but it’s beyond incompetent asset/roster mgmt from a rangers pov to move a 22 yr old with significantly more upside for a 31 yr old signed long term who only has downside going fwd…and then theres the fact of making that kinda win now move while subtracting a roster piece who’d be just as, if not more, critical to any remote possibility of it leading to winning now.

Maybe a deal happens…maybe it doesnt…but i cant picture a world it happens in that includes creating a current roster hole as big as the one they’d be trying to fill with jt.

Playing it loose with the word significantly. Your guy is 23 btw and in his 5th season. Has yet to hit 60 points and may not hit 50 this year. He is average at best. His ceiling is not that high. Ranger fans overrate him.

What I'm more getting at, is what urgency do the Rangers have to make a trade for Miller right now?

The deal falling through kinda shows that they're willing to walk away (at least for now).

A team that thinks they can win this season will be more willing to get a deal done right now.

Who knows why the deal fell through. But the urgency for the Rangers is they sit just outside of a playoff spot and I think 12 of their next 15 games are against fellow bubble teams. If they come out of this stretch not in a playoff position they are probably out of runway for the season.
