this will be subtraction by subtraction if miller leaves
Right, they don't have to trade Him. Especially not for a poor package. They already said once that they aren't trading Him. That was in early December. Miller said there was only one team he would go to, Pittsburg, his hometown. The media have gone nuts with this Miller Petey thing. Those two already said there wasn't a story.

Interesting to hear Dallas is apparently in the mix.

Miller is the type of player the Stars need but I'm not sure what we can offer. Canucks would certainly want someone who can help them now

Stars (or any team) need a fragile dude, that gets into his head when even slight problems are in the horizon? Disagreed.

I might be wrong, but I think JT Miller is more likely to return the Bo Horvat package: that is a 1st, prospect, player, plus a little more here and there than be moved in a superstar for superstar mega blockbuster.

Just don't think teams would be in the head space of acquiring a recent 100 point scorer, but more of a 70-80 point guy plus some baggage and a high cap hit in-season.

Total speculation in my head is that Sykora and Chmelar were scratched for a potential trade, while Groulx was scratched for a potential emergency recall to the Rangers. And since he’s a C, that would mean a C was part of the deal to Vancouver. And *that* means either Zibanejad (wishful part of my brain) or Chytil (cynical part of my brain).

This post is totally meaningless, of course.

Cap is going to be the issue with the Rangers.
