At times, a good player for Abby last year. In fact, just before injury was having one of his better stretches.

Doubt you can have much confidence he pushes for a job in Vancouver as this is probably a recovery year (from the injury) in Abby.

Certianly has paid his dues at the minor league level.

Maybe Woo can defy the Canucks 'CHL curse' under Jim Benning. So many d-man drafted from so many different leagues......and with the exception of Hughes, all of them flamed out.

Things were particularly dismal in terms of WHL d-men drafted. Maybe a breakthrough year in Abbotsford gets him back on the NHL-radar again.

I like the FA defence signings for the most part but it's easy to see that they bought time with this contract. I do like Woo but his first complete solid season was probably last year, the previous year he improved as the year went on but wasn't that great at the beginning IIRC.

With the injury recovery and just trying to build off his first good pro season it makes sense to sign him for two years. Desharnais and Forbort are only 2 and 1 year signings, if Woo develops they can move off those guys.
