Rumor: Canucks Now Looking to Add Impact Forward

If they're looking around the league at teams not in the playoff hunt (which I used 6 points out of a wildcard spot), then the guys that would interest me are Zetterlund, Cozens, Zegras, Keller and Hayton. Obviously some would cost a lot more than the others and probably a couple wouldn't be available at all.

I would probably throw in Norris, Barzal and Mittelstadt as other guys the Canucks would target.

That being said, the price for any of them would be significant and it would definitely be hard to keep Willander and Lekkerimaki in the team.

Vancouver
-Tom willander/lekkarimaki
-2nd round pick
-Nils hoglander

Anaheim
-Mason McTavish

Who says no, and if so how would you balance it

I don't think any of those things interests the Ducks, at least not for one of their best young pieces. They're better off adding to McTavish with their surplus of young D or even their 1st rounder and trying to add a proven scorer, not part him out.

And that's assuming they want to move him at all. He finally seems to have gotten his crap together this year ... the last few weeks are the best hockey he's ever played on both ends of the ice, and he just turned 22 a few days ago. Zero reason to give up on him now.

Kind of an off-the-board option, but I would be very interested in Troy Terry from Anaheim. I know they signed him long-term, but he is one their "older" core players and might not really be on the roster post-rebuild.

He's only 27, and he's also pretty much their only legit current top 6 forward, signed to a deal that's going to look very good going forward. They're not moving him unless it's something pretty ridiculous coming back.

We're 3-4 years early from bringing Bo Horvat back a la Trevor Linden but maybe we catch NYI at the Danius Zubrus, Richard Zednik, Jan Bulis stage and get him back now?

Lou masterclass when he recieves more than (gasp) Beauvillier, Raty and a 1st?

Lets get crazy.

Yes, especially since he's not, you know getting what he's called to be

He's also not 24 where there's a good chance he can top that.

He gets 100 points next year, or somehow this year I'll easily say that he's a 100 point player, but I doubt he does.
“Well TECHNICALLY…”

Gaylord, this was nothing to do with future performance. This was about you being weirdly pedantic. The guy has averaged just shy of a 100pt pace over the past three seasons. In multiple threads you’re quibbling about the ~4% difference. It’s weird.

Canucks need to find a way to replace some of that. Rangers are going to have a very decent on ice performer in the near term.

He's signed for three more seasons after this one. I'm not sure if ANA pictures themselves in a competitive/contention status in that time.

He signed a 7 year deal through 2030, that's another half decade.
And some of those seasons are already done. What are you even saying? Like is Jamie Benn signed "long-term" because he signed an 8 year deal at some point, even though it expires at the end of this year.

Terry has three years on his deal after this current one. How many of those three seasons does ANA expect to be competitive?

He's only in year 2 of the 7 year deal. It's been a while since I had to do arithmetic in school, but I'm pretty sure 7 minus 2 does not equal three.
