To be fair, yiu need to recognize the existence of outlier seasons when you're classifying players. Is Max Domi a 72 point C? Is Boeser a 40 goal winger? I'd say no, even though they achieved those highs once in a year when everything went right for them

It's Barzal not Barzel and no. This trade doesn't even help the Islanders rebuild, it just makes them worse and offsets it by adding in a 1st and Lekkerimaki. You want Barzal, remove Hoglander and Garland and upgrade the player substantially to something close to Barzal in terms of puck possession and skillset. Not a 3rd liner in Hoglander (who's a whopping 5'9) and an undersized grinder who's projected to have a career year. Barzal isn't the guy you sell off anyways and I could name the pieces to move out on the Isles roster.

Tom Willander for Isak Rosen would be a fair trade if Vancouver is looking for a potential top 6 forward. Rosen has been great for 3 years in Rochester and is ready to make the jump to NHL. Hopefully the Sabres make some deadline moves which open a spot for Rosen to see how his AHL success translates to the NHL.

Generally I agree, Peterka isnt a player I'd look to move unless its in a bigger deal for a star player. However to play devils advocate I think I'd make an exception for Willander given the strength of our organization is at wing and the lack of good RHD available in general. Also saves the Sabres a lot of $ if the plan is to then re-sign Byram and some of the other pending UFA's in Greenway and/or Zucker.

Strikes me as a little light given defenseman tend to hold more value than wingers. Rosen has been very good down in Rochester though. If anything I think his success could shake one of the other older wingers free and as someone mentioned earlier Peterka has been very good so it would at least be selling him while his value is on the rise. This assumes Buffalo gets good value in return, which I'm not sure Adams is capable of pulling off.

I expected the JT jokes since it's low hanging fruit but after listening to Allvin this was clearly a trade with a lot more substance than a rift with EP. The way he made it sound was that JT had alienated himself from the room and on top of that it alone or some other issue had made JT being traded the only outcome.
In that case Chytil, Pettersson and Mancini along with caspace isn't all that bad.

I'm guessing as time passes were gonna hear more than just EP had a problem with JT.
