EP40 sudden resurgence look like possibly pain killers and/or anti decongestants. The public know this happens in hockey, Kesler had a nice piece on this and there is limited testing in the NHL.
One game he looks listless and the next he is better than the previous 2 1/2 years. And filled with energy in a back to back in the third period, skating the best this season and last.
In construction that's called production powder. 😉😉

Well, that was fun.
Is it over yet?

Turns out my post about the Coach/Miller thing was right.
Now is the Tocchet going to Philly and Torts getting promoted, rumor but seems pretty sure.
The Canucks did get an offer for Boeser, a first rnd pick from Carolina albeit a late one but that is better than nothing IMO
Now I am just putting bits and pieces together here on Demko. An opinion.
Knee issue, back issue, groin issue, these are all symptoms of a bad hip(s) often stated.
AND his hips are never ever mentioned as a possibility even though it is common that after 10+ years post impingement surgery they can have problems, even his time off is similar to various procedures to help hips.
The pop muscle, actually McDavid has his detached and not surgically repaired.

These are also opinions.

Canucks are a desperate team, some of the players are pressured to go to great lengths.
It could be just EP40 stepping up his game so he can be more tradable.

I find the Tocchet rumor makes sense for Philly and Tocchet and Torts. And because it came from out east more possibly accurate
Where are you getting this Tocchet to the Flyers rumor from? Eklund?

No it was on TSN and Real Kyper and Bourne. Not sure about Spittin Chicklets.
If Eklund did post something all he does is repeat what somebody else has already stated.
Rumors or talk about the Penquins as well.

There’s nothing to be found when you google “Rick Tocchet to the flyers rumor”, surely if it was a serious rumor as you claim there would be some articles written about it?

Might be talking about it right now. Sports talk shows. Dhali too I think

Halford & Brough asked Seravalli about Tocchet to the Flyers and his response is that the Flyers aren’t firing Tortorella nor will they move him to the front office.

There’s very little substance to this rumour and is on par with Pettersson going to the Blackhawks to play with Nylander.

vector didn't transcribe it, but apparently Elliot Friedman said this the other day?

"I think Hughes really backed Pettersson...He knew the fanbase was split on this but he felt very strongly that EP could still have a big impact for them. He believed this was a move they had to make. He believed in the long run every1 would be better off."

Hughes is a bright guy and him taking a longer term views on player personnel is probably encouraging for his long term investment in being a Canuck. Says a lot about his opinions about Miller, who apparently thought his continued presence was a detriment.

Also keeping Petey is a step to keep Hughes

Miller hasn't exactly been complimentary of the Canucks since arriving back in Manhattan. He's basically saying it's 'good to be enjoying playing hockey again'.

I'm beginning to wonder how long it'll be before the Rangers room is as dysfunctional as it was in Vancouver earlier this season?

The Canucks did OK. They got Chytil and Mancini, who looks like a serviceable young d-man. And they flipped the first rounder to the Pens to get Marcus Pettersson and O'Connor--and have re-signed them both.

And basically dumped more than $12m in contracts for Miller, Desharnais, Heinen and Brannstrom. And all it really cost them were a couple of B-C level prospects in Dorrington and Fernstrom.

Given that there were only a couple of teams Miller was even willing to be traded to--hard to argue with what they got.

Hughes is quickly becoming my favorite hockey player of all time

Was hoping after the Blackout that the season so far turned out like this:

Okay, so no Junior tonight, which is too bad but fine. Mancini looked good and deserved another game. And of course Willander joins this group soon.

It's hard to ease 3 rookies into a blueline even though the contract structure of our Dee work well for easing these guys in over the length of Myers' contract. But we do need a long term top 6 center, so should we be shopping one of DPetey, Mancini or Willander for a similar age, similar upside C player/prospect?

Willander probably still has the most trade value, but I'm not willing to move his upside. He's still untouchable for me.

This makes Mancini less valuable as a short term piece, as we will be trying to develop 2 RH rookies at the same time (if Willander walks in and is clearly too good f0r the AHL). But he's likely got the least amount of trade value.

Junior brings a physical play we don’t have enough of. Slots in nicely behind Hughes and MP3, and complements their games perfectly. But his introduction to the league has probably spiked his trade value, and we do have KK and Mynio...3LD is pretty well insulated behind QH/MP so maybe EP25 makes the most sense.

Sure, we can keep all 3 and that's fine. But what are some realistic targets using 1 of these dmen?
