Off topic, but in the NHL can non-monetary incentives for signing be added to a contract? For instance in the MLB Jon Lester got in his contract with the Cubs some private jet usage and an apartment-like accommodation for on the road

This is not allowed in the NHL. The team can provide temporary accommodation but that is paid back.

The word is he’ll be seeking 9.5-11 per on a 7 year deal. We for sure would have to trade Garland if we acquired him I think.

MS wrote up a report in previous thread - he thinks he would be a better acquisition than Guentzel

“Reinhart is younger, more durable, and vastly superior defensively. And has C utility.

Guentzel is probably a slightly better bet to light it up in year 1 of their contracts but on overall value for 7 years I’d take Reinhart.”
