This is going to happen...not sure how it all looks, but understand key part of return is two first-round picks from Lightning to Kraken. (for Gourde and Bjorkstrand) - Friedman
Such a stupid comment from Brady. Apparently he's taken one too many noogies from his brother.
League is also wide open.I'm betting Bjorkstrand is retained to give them a nice 2nd line winger for 2.7MM for this year and next....
Tampa just gets it. They have their core all in their primes, they are all locked up long term and they'll get the benefits of rising cap. There is no point drafting in the first round for the next few years.
oof, even the coach coming out and saying it. And he wants 8x8+
Seattle gets first round pick in 26, first round pick in 27, Toronto's 2nd in '25 and Eyssimont in trade with Tampa.
Bolts get Gourde and Bjokstrand plus 5th Rd pick in '26 - LeBrun
He’s not gonna get tradedThat's a nice haul for Seattle, good on them. Tampa gets the depth it needs to contend while Kucherov and Hedman are still on top of their game.
They know those 1sts are never going to play with either of those two, and when those two inevitably retire, it will be time to go full scorched earth anyways.
Also Brock really is a modern day, better, more responsible version of Michael Ryder. The guy is great if you can staple him to a playmaker who can create, but outside of his shot he's not going to drive the play on his own. If he and Petey had good chemistry I could see a long-term fit here, but given the dearth of centers & play drivers on this team I don't know if he fits beyond this season.

Aqualini wants to chase the playoffs
Rutherford literally stated when he got this job he knew of Francesco’s “previous involvement” and wanted him to focus his energy on other areas of the operation
I’m shocked that sellers in the NHL are typically so focused on getting picks for the immediate draft and not for later seasons. That's a nice haul for Seattle, good on them. Tampa gets the depth it needs to contend while Kucherov and Hedman are still on top of their game.

Insane sellers market…. Inexcusable if you don’t deal every god damn player with value you can move… nothing less will be accepted.
Hahahahaha Jim Benning special babyWe ran out of time.
I made this point yesterday. But it would make even less sense to trade Suter over Boeser considering that Boeser likely has more value as well. It’s a bit weird to move him while you’re talking about keeping Boeser as an own rental to make the playoffs. Given relative levels of play and position, Suter is arguably more important to their immediate playoff push today than Boeser.
