Cozens & Tuch pls thx

(+Kulich)
We won't be getting Kulich on top of that but Cozens and Tuch for EP40 is a real possibility that could make sense for both teams.

Cozens and Tuch fits the Tocchet mold way better as heavy guys. If the window is now, Tuch's salary at ~$4.5M next year would be great for the team. I would probably try to get Jack Quinn too, maybe a Hoglander swap.

I've been starting to wonder about Tampa being a landing spot for Boeser. They have the cap space now and for an extension.

Geekie as the main piece coming back.
First and Geekie for Boeser 50% retained would make a lot of sense.

Tampa would have no problem giving him term too since their window is now. They don't care what happens in 4-5 years - all their guys are 27-31 in long term deals. Tampa could easily re-sign him to a Hagel deal... $6-7M X 8 years.

If I routinely perform at 60% of my expected output and then tell my bosses "it's annoying dealing with outside distractions and being criticized", I get fired. And I am a niche specialist who cannot be easily replaced in my current role.

At a certain point, you are either an asset or a liability to the bottom line.

My low key fantasy is a big boi trade with Buffalo for alot, ep + boeser and whatever for COZENS, Tuch and whatever we can get, Kulich, quinn, greenway, joki, jj, some swedish prospect, gimme everything.

XL Unlikely I know but I want action and dang would it be exciting

Something I haven't really seen anyone talk about when it comes to EP40 is that even if he bounces back next year, what gives you the confidence that he won't go through something like that again in the future? This type of inconsistency at $11.6M is too scary. What gives you confidence that Petey can be a top line match up center in the playoffs?

True stars don't disappear for extended periods like this - he's done this before a couple years ago and is doing it again.

The idea that EP can be a consistent 100 point guy should be erased from people's mind. At best he's a two-way point per game center that should be a 1B guy. He's closer to a Nico Hischier than a Jack Hughes - which is OK but not OK at 11.6M.

Trading EP is the best outcome. We can’t have this going on for another 7 years - best to cut it now. It’s like committing to a situationship for 7 more years where both sides have been toxic to each other and everyone should move on. It’s a 11.6M situationship.

The Sabres need a major shakeup. Cozens and Tuch for EP40 is such a no brainer for both teams.

Did they ask him if he is healthy?

@sensodyne17 He will never score 100 points again in his career.
Yes likely.

Which is why I hate it when people keep referring to him as a 100 point center.

If anything, Miller is closer since he had a 99 point year in addition to his 100 point year.

Petey scoring 100 points was a statistical anomaly and likely won't happen ever again - yet the people that don't want to trade him keep pointing towards the 100 points. People don't want to live in reality unfortunately.

And when you're in a shitty environment, you'll likely do shitty work. It's a whole feng shui thing.

EP40 and Hoglander for Cozens, Tuch and Kulich is a huge win for us IMO

Boeser to Vegas makes sense. Replaces Saad.

Dorofeyev - Hertl - Boeser is a sexy 2nd line

Give me Connelly
I see the Boeser to Ottawa rumor with Norris in the mix coming the other way, is back up on the NHL trade deadline board.

It might make some sense from the standpoint of both teams. Norris has been hit hard with injuries and is making $7.95m a season with significant term on his deal.

Boeser is the scorer that Ottawa clearly needs right now as they battle tooth and nail to get into the final wildcard spot. He'd strictly be a rental, but if the Sens can't re-sign him, at least they'd shed the salary for Norris.

So Boeser and maybe a depth d-man like Soucy or Forbort for Norris. Boeser is re-united with his old coach Travis Green; and Norris is reportedly one of Quinn Hughes' best friends.

I'm just messing around with puckpedia, but some moves like this would allow them to get younger and faster up front and would allow the team to remain relatively competitive for the rest of this season without having to dip into the rental market to make win-now moves.

A Norris trade would make a lot of sense, we need the center depth/talent great offensive player with a lot of skills the caveat is hes injury prone. On another front, one of Quinn Hughes best friends who could entice him to stay.
