Boeser may find that his value isn’t what he thinks it is as we approach July 1 and he speaks to teams. There may also be a team or two that offer him stupid money. Guess we’ll find out but I think there might be another chapter in this story yet.

I think the teams that would offer him stupid money are places he likely wouldn't go.

Methinks his first desire would be to go to Minnesota. But whether there's a fit there, who knows. But I feel like wherever he ends up, he's going to be a productive forward that we watch put up goals each year for another time, much like Toffoli has since we failed to retain him. (I actually see a decent fit for him in San Jose, to be honest)

I wish him nothing but the best. He's been a good soldier, and a good human. My boys met him multiple times, and he's been magnificent with them. Watching him go is going to hurt.

Boeser walking for nothing when we should've traded him.. what a disaster of a season

Atleast in the benning days you had optimism for the future but now we're well on our way to being the next chicago blackhawks for the next 10 years

Embarrassing

It doesn’t feel like it’s about money necessarily. While I’m sure Brock would prefer a nice landing spot and money, I think a similar contract to his current one and a fresh start elsewhere would suit him just fine.

No one should take the kind of shit from any employer that Brock has for so long. It’s not about the money if the teams biggest golden retriever is shutting the door with such seeming finality.

The constant negging, drama, and media negotiations is such a bad look. Players are human beings, and should be treated as such, regardless of whether you think he should stay or are deserving of a raise.

I don't think the last thread discussed enough the Nucks need for Top 6 forwards.
They were short one pre-Miller trade.

They’re losing Miller.

They need three. Whether one of those is internal, they definitely need two. And one has to be absolutely elite.

I'll repeat what I said in the last thread: this team basically needs an entire 1st line and likely doesn't have the cap space or assets to get it done this off-season barring a miracle.

People keep suggesting we go after top forwards in free agency, but the reality is those guys will have little-to-no interest in signing here (with the current roster minus Boeser/Suter). This is a non-playoff team that just had a drama-filled season.

Allvin and JR need to make some massive moves to improve up front if they don't want another season stuck in the mushy middle...or worse. And they better not think they can just "fix" it mid-season again.

Honestly a lot of the people that wanted the Canucks to go after Hertl last year instead on Lindholm were probably right. They should have looked for that longterm fit instead of the short term one. They would be in much better postion with Miller leaving and the cost was likely similar to Lindholm.

Agreed on your last paragraph in particular. If this team had been capable of halfway decent defense outside of Hughes in the 1st half of the year, we're likely in the playoffs.

Our defense looks like it is now shored up, and should be a key point of strength for next year. But the picture up front looks pretty bleak right now.

Nuckles last paragraphs are always a must read

What has he done this year to think he deserves a raise.Going to be shocked if he ends up 8x long term contract somewhere.
