I’m surprised Arvidsson has looked so terrible. Even with more time needed to recover from surgery, I figured he’d be able to produce as a trigger man. I think he might be in line for a bounce back similar to Mikheyev looking spry being a couple years removed from his surgery.

It’s not a slam dunk but you have to take risks when you’re asset and cap space limited.
Bias aside Kane fills a lot of holes in the forward group.
You cannot afford to add a toxic player like that to a shaky locker room.

You're letting your player bias affect your view of the situation.
He would objectively be a good add to this forward group - he brings much needed speed, size, physicality and goal scoring abilities. He scored 24 goals last year (only 2 PPG) in 77 games last year. It's also mostly a contract swap with Soucy who we can replace with Forbort/Mancini without losing any on-ice value.
Canucks need to take chances to swing for ceiling - getting Evander Kane for Soucy would be a ceiling raising move. I think he'd be a great fit on Petey's wing - would definitely elevate the line. He'd be the best goal scoring winger Petey's ever had (outside of Boeser).
He could replace 80-90% of Boeser's production at a fraction of the cost.

There aren’t a whole lot of options as far as signing a guy the calibre of Kane on a 1 year deal. Otherwise, he will be 34 and coming off (minor?) knee surgery + abdominal injury. Not known for his off ice training and work ethic, I question his effectiveness coming back from injury/surgery. His salary isn’t chump change even in a rising cap environment. I am not opposed to the idea but given the locker room issues we have had why risk it?
This. Our locker room is clearly too fragile to handle discord/challenging personalities. I can see Kane basically becoming addition by subtraction material.

McCann seems like a no brainer for this management team.
28 can play C and wing. Puts up point and is responsible on both sides of the puck.
Would be a good addition for the top 6. 5M is a great CAP hit.

Dak - Suter - Garland
DOC - Teddy - Sherwood
Need a monster of a top line RW. Tuch would be a good add.
Next upgrade would be 3C if Suter leaves.
Raty would be ideal because of his cap hit, but I am uncertain if he is ready for a role that important.
My personal preference with be Nick Bjugstad as the 3C

Not expecting the Canucks to buy or sell, per se, but move a couple pending UFA's, and maybe Soucy, then add a couple more by flipping those assets and perhaps tweaking things a bit. No major swings until the off season, despite accruing the cap space to take a run at it this year.
Trades have been pretty scarce up to now because so many teams are around the playoff bubble, teams like the Canucks don't want to forego potential playoff revenue by being a seller prematurely, and expecting the Canucks to do that is just plain unrealistic. It's easy to want or expect something to happen when it's not your money in play.
